Development of guidelines for the re-use of reclaimed asphalt from SMA layers for new wearing courses laid using the same technology
The aim of the project is to develop guidelines specifying the rules for the re-use of reclaimed asphalt from the milled wearing courses made of SMA-type asphalt mixtures for new wearing courses laid using the same technology. Due to the assumption that in the process of replacing the wearing courses of the reclaimed material of high quality and value, it is reasonable to develop methods and uniform guidelines that will enable the maximization of its use in the new SMA layers at the place of acquisition. The path of action developed as part of the project should allow for the achievement of the maximum level of use of the available material and take into account all stages from obtaining the reclaim to embedding a new layer.
There will be Technical Guidelines allowing for the maximum use of reclaimed asphalt from SMA layers for new SMA mixes. Recycling technology allows for optimization of the process of replacing the used layers of national roads as part of maintenance works.
