Innovative management of IT projects with the use of the agent-based approach on the basis of intelligent agents
PublicationProject management is one of the major challenges for the modern economy. Dynamic changes in the structures of organizations which form the core of the economy imply changes in both management processes and structures. One element of these changes is a new approach to the manufacturing of modern and rapidly changing products (due to changing market requirements). As part of these changes, traditional organizational structures are...

Self-Organization in Multi-Agent Systems Based on Examples of Modeling Economic Relationships between Agents
PublicationThe goal of the research was to observe and analyze self-organization patterns in Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) by modeling basic economic relationships between agents forming a closed loop of relations necessary for their survival. The paper describes a worked-out MAS including an example of a production cycle and used economic rules. A special focus is put on behavior rules and decision systems of an individual agent such as: product...

Concept of the agent system for the information technology evaluation
PublicationIn this paper the concept of the agent system for the information technology evaluation has been presented. This article includes the concept description and shows abilities of using software tools which can be applicable to implementation and verification of proposed solution. The article is the part of common researches over creation solutions for information technology evaluation which range over using expert's evaluation and...

Verification of agent system for it project management support
PublicationThis article is a continuation of article series telling about research about possibility of using agent system to information technology evaluation. Following article presents full conception of exploiting agent system and shows how it can support some managers works, especially in taking correct management method and information tool for project management. In this article the agent system that based on knowledge and can process...

Ontology management in the multi-agent system for the it evaluation
PublicationThe team of researchers at the Gdańsk University of Technology is currently developing a model of the multi-agent system (MAS_IT) that would aid the IT managers to find the most appropriate technology to the goals assumed. The knowledge is to be provided by experts and stored in the facts and rules bases. The responsibility of the verification process-on the input and query stages-is given to the ontology, making it to some extend...

An Approach to Agent-Based Supporting System for IT Projects
PublicationAbstract. The natural development of information technology area stimulates intense growth of various technologies which support basic organization processes. The range of technologies implies appropriate management thereof, as well as accurate correspondence with conducted activities. Abandonment of activities within individual branches in favour of project approach to performed assignments (especially those connected with software...

Agent System for Managing Distributed Mobile Interactive Documents
PublicationThe MIND architecture of distributed mobile interactive document is a new processing model defined for facilitate informed decision-making in non-algorithmic decision-making processes carried out by knowledge-based organizations. The aim of this architecture is to change the static document to mobile agents, which are designed to implement the structure of the organization through autonomous migration between knowledge workers...

Validation of an Agent and Ontology-based Information Technology Assessment System
PublicationThe aim of this paper is to present a new method of the validation of an Agent and Ontology-based Information Technology Assessment System. In the introduction part of the paper, the characteristics of the proposed multi-agent system are presented. Next, some important details regarding the ontology functionality of this system are described and an approach to its verification process is proposed. The approach employs semantic...

An application of multi-agent system for ship’s power systems design
PublicationDesign process of transport ship power system consists of structure (topology) and component elements selection. Compliance with the requirements for static components does not guarantee optimal dynamic characteristics of entire power system. Design steps are difficult to formalize and as a consequence to this reason expert and multi-agent systems are used for solving selected design issues. In the paper distributed multi-agent...

Information technology assessment using a functional prototype of the agent based system
PublicationIn the paper authors present the progress of works related with the agent-based system serving the purpose of information technology assessment. Currently this is a prototype including agents, the knowledge base and the ontology; the domain incorporated by the assessment-enterprise managing technologies with special attention paid to technologies directed to IT projects. In this paper, besides indication of expected functionalities...

Electricity demand prediction by multi-agent system with history-based weighting
PublicationEnergy and load demand forecasting in short-horizons, over an interval ranging from one hour to one week, is crucial for on-line scheduling and security functions of power system. Many load forecasting methods have been developed in recent years which are usually complex solutions with many adjustable parameters. Best-matching models and their relevant parameters have to be determined in a search procedure. We propose a hybrid...

Bacteriophages as an antistaphylococcal agent
PublicationRecently observed increase of infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus is currently one of the most important problem of clinical microbiology. Most of the strains responsible for the infections are a MRSA (methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus) strains. In this situation commonly used antibiotics are not sufficient. There is an urgent need to search for a new nonatibiotic treatment against this pathogen. In the literature...

Agent System for Managing Distributed Mobile Interactive Documents in Knowledge-Based Organizations
PublicationThe MIND architecture of distributed mobile interactive document is a new processing model defined to facilitate obtaining a proper solution in knowledge processes carried out by knowledge-based organizations. Such organizations have an established structure that defines document templates and knowledge process. The aim of the MIND architecture is to change the static document to mobile agents, which are designed to implement the...

Peptide dendrimers as antifungal agents and carriers for potential antifungal agent—N3‐(4‐methoxyfumaroyl)‐(S)‐2,3‐ diaminopropanoic acid—synthesis and antimicrobial activity
PublicationA series of peptide dendrimers and their conjugates with antimicrobial agent FMDP (N3‐(4‐methoxyfumaroyl)‐(S)‐2,3‐diamino‐propanoic acid) were synthesized. The obtained compounds were tested for the antibacterial and antifungal activity. All novel dendrimers displayed much better activity against the tested strains than FMDP itself. Moreover, their conjugates with FMDP also exhibited antimicrobial activity. The most promising molecules...
