Monitoring of odour nuisance in the Tricity Agglomeration
PublicationThe paper describes a principle of operation of odour nuisance monitoring network, which is being designed in the Tricity Agglomeration. Moreover, it presents the preliminary results of an investigation on ambient air quality with respect to odour nuisance in a vicinity of the municipal landfill. The investigation was performed during spring-winter season using a prototype of electronic nose and the Nasal Ranger field olfactometers. The...

Comparison of the measurement techniques employed for evaluation of ambient air odour quality
PublicationThe paper presents the results of investigation on ambient air odour quality in a vicinity of the industrial sewage treatment plant being a part of the crude oil processing plant. The investigation was performed during spring-winter season using a prototype of electronic nose and the Nasal Ranger field olfactometers. The prototype was equipped with a set of six semiconductor sensors by FIGARO Co. and one PID-type sensor. The field...

Matching Exception Class Hierarchies between .NET, Java Environments
PublicationThe paper presents a methodology of exception classification and matching exception messages between .NET andJava environments. The methodology operates on existing exception class hierarchies and proposes two complementingapproaches: automated and manual matching. The automated matching uses the similarity measure to find associationsbetween exception messages from the two sets of classes for the considered programming languages....

APPLICATION OF ULTRAFAST GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY TO RECOGNIZE ODOR NUISANCE
PublicationPotentialities of ultrafast gas chromatography applied to periodical monitoring of odor nuisance originating from a municipal landfill have been examined. The results of investigation on classification of the atmospheric air samples collected in a vicinity of the landfill during winter and summer season have been presented. The investigation was performed using ultrafast gas chromatography of Fast/Flash GC type HERACLES II by Alpha...

Improving methods for detecting people in video recordings using shifting time-windows
PublicationWe propose a novel method for improving algorithms which detect the presence of people in video sequences. Our focus is on algorithms for applications which require reporting and analyzing all scenes with detected people in long recordings. Therefore one of the target qualities of the classification result is its stability, understood as a low number of invalid scene boundaries. Many existing methods process images in the recording...

Visual Features for Improving Endoscopic Bleeding Detection Using Convolutional Neural Networks
PublicationThe presented paper investigates the problem of endoscopic bleeding detection in endoscopic videos in the form of a binary image classification task. A set of definitions of high-level visual features of endoscopic bleeding is introduced, which incorporates domain knowledge from the field. The high-level features are coupled with respective feature descriptors, enabling automatic capture of the features using image processing methods....

User Orientation Detection in Relation to Antenna Geometry in Ultra-Wideband Wireless Body Area Networks Using Deep Learning
PublicationIn this paper, the issue of detecting a user’s position in relation to the antenna geometry in ultra-wideband (UWB) off-body wireless body area network (WBAN) communication using deep learning methods is presented. To measure the impulse response of the channel, a measurement stand consisting of EVB1000 devices and DW1000 radio modules was developed and indoor static measurement scenarios were performed. It was proven that for...

Model of management of knowledge bases in the information technology evaluation environment
PublicationThe paper presents the model of management of knowledge bases in multi-agent system for evaluation of information technologies (IT_MAS). Such system is being developed in Gdansk Uni-versity of Technology by Information Technology Management Team. Multi-agent system is supposed to support manager level specialists during decision processes when there is identified need to buy or change any information technology. The main goal of...

Automatyczne rozpoznawanie muzyki - przykłady eksperymentów.
PublicationW referacie dokonano przeglądu aktualnego stanu badań w dziedzinie automaty-cznego rozpoznawania muzyki. Przedstawiono też eksperymenty prowadzone aktu-alnie w Katedrze Dźwięku i Obrazu PG. Prace te dotyczyły rozpoznawania klasinstrumentów muzycznych i separacji duetów muzycznych. Pokazano przykładowewyniki i przedstawiono projekt prac do zrealizowania w przyszłych ekspery-mentach.
