Characteristics of the Radunia river and its catchment in view of WFD
PublicationCelem Ramowej Dyrektywy Wodnej (RDW), między innymi problemami jest ochrona śródlądowych wód powierzchniowych, zabezpieczenie przed dalszym pogorszenien ich stanu i poprawa stanu ekosystemów wodnych. Badania Rzeki Raduni i jej zlewni zostały wykonane przez Instytut Budownictwa Wodnego i Politechnikę Gdańską. Dotyczyły one wód śródlądowych (rzeki, jeziora, zbiorniki), ich hydrologii, hydrauliki i jakości wody. Rzeka jest istotna...

Job Demands, Engagement, and Turnover Intentions in Polish Nurses: The Role of Work-Family Interface
PublicationBackground: Poland has lower ratios of employed registered nurses per 1,000 inhabitants than the EU average. Polish nurses work under miserable conditions without assisting personnel, and they reconcile their professional demands with responsibilities for their families; 96% of them are women. Rationale/Aims: This study uses Hobfoll’s conservation of resources (CORs) theory to explain the role of various resources in the improvement...

The work-family interface: Job demands, work engagement and turnover intentions of Polish nurses
PublicationA conflict between one's professional life and one's family life may lead to lower well-being both at work and home. Most nurses are women who have traditionally reconciled their professional life with family life. One aim of this study was to examine the relationships between the work-family conflict (WFC),the family-work conflict (FWC), and the perception of job demands (quantitative workload and interpersonal conflicts at work)....

Anticarcinogenic and antioxidant activities of leaves and flowers hydroalcoholic extracts of Nerium oleander L.: PCA analysis and phytochemical content by FTIR spectroscopy
PublicationAims: The aim of this work is the evaluation the anticarcinogenic effect on HT29 cancer cells lines and antioxidant effect of three extracts from different morphological parts (leaves (LE), pink flowers (PFE) and white flowers (WFE)) of Nerium oleander lin. Methods: This research provides the anticarcinogenic activity of extracts from N. oleander white flowers. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was applied to estimate the relationship...

Activated Tungsten Inert Gas Weld Characteristics of P91 Joint for Advanced Ultra Supercritical Power Plant Applications
PublicationActivated Tungsten Inert Gas (A-TIG) welding, a variant of tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, was used for welding P91. In Generation IV power plants, P91 welds are prone to premature failure due to the presence and formation of brittle phases and creep at high temperatures. When performing A-TIG welding, the flux composition plays a role in the reversal of the Marangoni flow in the weld pool, which ultimately determines the level...

By-Products from Food Industry as a Promising Alternative for the Conventional Fillers for Wood–Polymer Composites
PublicationThe present paper describes the application of two types of food-industry by-products, brewers’ spent grain (BSG), and coffee silverskin (ŁK) as promising alternatives for the conventional beech wood flour (WF) for wood–polymer composites. The main goal was to investigate the impact of partial and complete WF substitution by BSG and ŁK on the processing, structure, physicochemical, mechanical, and thermal properties of resulting...

Simulation model for evaluation of QOS dynamic routing
PublicationCurrent informational networks use a large variety of technologies to support data exchange. Most of them are focused on IP protocol and include mechanisms which by definition should supply demanded QoS. One of those mechanisms is efficient path calculation - routing. Traffic offered to the network can change very rapidly in short term. Routing should support such traffic changes and all the time calculate valid paths in terms...

Mikropaskowy promiennik prostokątny o zredukowanych wymiarach poprzecznych
PublicationW rozdziale omówiono wyniki badań nad miniaturyzacją wymiarów poprzecznych anteny mikropaskowej przeznaczonej do pracy w systemie IFF/SSR. Zastosowanie dwóch szczelin sprzęgających: prostokątnej oraz typu H pozwoliło zwiększyć pasmo pracy oraz poprawić dopasowanie anteny. Przedstawiono wyniki symulacji oraz pomiarów parametrów anteny: WFS wejściowego oraz charakterystyk promieniowania w obu płaszczyznach ortogonalnych.
