Tailoring Graphene to Achieve Negative Poisson's Ratio Properties
PublicationGraphene can be made auxetic through the introduction of vacancy defects. This results in the thinnest negative Poisson's ratio material at ambient conditions known so far, an effect achieved via a nanoscale de-wrinkling mechanism that mimics the behavior at the macroscale exhibited by a crumpled sheet of paper when stretched.

On time-dependent nonlinear dynamic response of micro-elastic solids
PublicationA new approach to the mechanical response of micro-mechanic problems is presented using the modified couple stress theory. This model captured micro-turns due to micro-particles' rotations which could be essential for microstructural materials and/or at small scales. In a micro media based on the small rotations, sub-particles can also turn except the whole domain rotation. However, this framework is competent for a static medium....

Simulation of perovskite-based CuI/CH3NH3PbI3/TiO2 solar cell performance
Open Research DataThe presented data set is part of the theoretical research on novel thin-layer lead-halide perovskite solar cells with different inorganic transparent conductive oxides used as charge transport layers. In this study CuI/CH3NH3PbI3/TiO2 model structure (Model 1) was investigated by the use of the SCAPS-1D simulation method (https://scaps.elis.ugent.be/).

Simulation of perovskite-based CuI/CH3NH3PbI3/ZnO solar cell performance
Open Research DataThe presented data set is part of the theoretical research on novel thin-layer lead-halide perovskite solar cells with different inorganic transparent conductive oxides used as charge transport layers. In this study CuI/CH3NH3PbI3/ZnO model structure (Model 3) was investigated by the use of the SCAPS-1D simulation method (https://scaps.elis.ugent.be/).

Synteza małocząsteczkowych pochodnych 2-pirydonu wykazujących właściwości przeciwnowotworowe oraz przeciwbakteryjne
PublicationTematyka i cel badawczy niniejszej rozprawy doktorskiej dotyczy syntezy chemicznej związków heterocyklicznych z grupy 2-pirydonu wykazujących potencjał przeciwbakteryjny oraz przeciwnowotworowy. W części teoretycznej podjęto tematykę znanych fluorochinolonów oraz chinolonów wykazujących aktywność przeciwnowotworową. Dodatkowo przedstawiono nowe metody syntezy chinolonów niewymagające stosowania katalizatorów metali przejściowych...

Mechanochemical Energy Transduction during the Main Rotary Step in the Synthesis Cycle of F1-ATPase
PublicationF1-ATPase is a highly efficient molecular motor that can synthesize ATP driven by a mechanical torque. Its ability to function reversibly in either direction requires tight mechanochemical coupling between the catalytic domain and the rotating central shaft, as well as temporal control of substrate binding and product release. Despite great efforts and significant progress, the molecular details of this synchronized and fine-tuned...
