NEW SOLUTIONS FOR THE SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLERS DESIGN FOR OBTAINING TRUE MPP IN PARTLY SHADED PV MODULES
Abstrakt
Soft shading sources such as tree limbs, structural elements of buildings and chimneys, scatter and refract sunlight, significantly reducing the amount of radiation reaching the surface of the module. The hard shadings located directly on the surface (i.e. bird droppings, leaves, snow) tend to stop sunlight completely. These phenomena significantly affects the output characteristics of photovoltaic modules and often contribute to the creation of additional local maximum power point. The value of VMPP is often greater than typical 0.8 VOC. The paper presents results of the experimental studies that make particular emphasis on the impact of the intensity of the incident radiation and partial shading (obtained by shading different parts of the module) on the generated electrical power output.Design of the newest semiconductor technology charge controller solution dedicated for standalone photovoltaic systems having maximum power point tracking system has been proposed and presented. The possibility of implementation in larger systems and adaptation to the needs of installations based on LiFePO4 battery technology has been discussed. The concept and schematic block diagram of a computer aided test bench allows to perform many, including long-term, studies of the controller. The results of research have been presented and discussed.
