Validated GC–MS method for determination of bisphenol a and its five analogues in dietary and nutritional supplements
PublicationBisphenol A (BPA) and its analogues showing structural and functional similarity to BPA are commonly applied in various industrial applications and thus are becoming ubiquitous in the environment. At the same time there is increasing scientific evidence that exposure to these chemicals may lead to adverse health effects in human and wildlife. In recent years dietary and nutritional supplements dedicated for athletes have become...

The influence of the welding thermal cycles on corrosion resistance of duplex stainless steel

Simulation model for assessment of IMS-based NGN call processing performance
PublicationIn current telecommunications it is assumed that demands of information society for quickly delivered services will be satisfied by Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture, which includes IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) elements. To guarantee Quality of Service (QoS), proper design and dimensioning of NGN is absolutely necessary, for which appropriate models have to be proposed. As NGN architecture is very complicated, the most...

Simulation Model of IMS/NGN with Transport Stratum Based on MPLS Technology
PublicationIn the paper we continue our research on traffic modelling in the Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture, which includes the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) elements. A simulation model of a single NGN domain with transport stratum based on the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology is proposed, which allows evaluation of mean response time of this stratum. The simulation model is applied to verify the results obtained...

Zastosowanie koncepcji SDN w warstwie transportowej sieci IMS/NGN

Determination of free tyrosine in equestrian supplements by LC–MS/MS and comparison of its quantity with total free amino acids content in view of doping control
PublicationThe reports on the probable beneficial impact of tyrosine (TYR) supplementation on performance enhancement have contributed to the growth of interest in TYR in equestrian sports field and related industries, such as the manufacture of dietary and nutritional supplements. In this study, the first attempt to the assessment of horses exposure to TYR during nutritional supplementation was demonstrated by quantification of unbound TYR...

Fast-SEC coupled to ICP-MS for selected metal determination and its stability over time in polish wine
PublicationMetal ions contribute to the wine browning (as reaction catalysts), turbidity (in complexes), and astringency (due to inter- action with tannins). Being aware that bioavailability and metabolism of metal ions in the human body are strictly related with their concentration and the form they occur it is important to monitor not only the total content of metals but also their speciation. Thus, we can obtain more information about...

Simulation Model for Application of the SDN Concept in IMS/NGN Network Transport Stratum
PublicationThe paper presents a simulation model allowing examination of cooperation between two currently used telecommunication networks concepts: IP Multimedia Subsystem/Next Generation Network (IMS/NGN) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN). Application of the SDN architecture elements in IMS/NGN networks will enable unified control and management of transport resources for various transport technologies and equipment manufacturers. However,...

Traffic Model of IMS/NGN Architecture with Transport Stratum Based on MPLS Technology
PublicationGrowing expectations for a fast access to information create strong demands for a universal telecommunication network architecture, which provides various services with strictly determined quality. Currently it is assumed that these requirements will be satisfied by Next Generation Network (NGN), which consists of two stratums and includes IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) elements. To guarantee Quality of Service (QoS) all NGN stratums...

Analysis of IMS/NGN call processing performance using phase-type distributions
PublicationThis work is a continuation of our research on the traffic model dedicated for design and analysis of the Next Generation Network (NGN), which is standardized for distribution of current and future multimedia services based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Our analytical and simulation models allow evaluation of mean Call Set-up Delay E(CSD) as well as mean Call Disengagement Delay E(CDD) in a single domain of IMS/NGN. Ensuring...

Traffic model for evaluation of call processing performance parameters in IMS-based NGN
PublicationIn the modern world requirements for accurate and fast information distribution are becoming more and more important, which creates a strong necessity for appropriate telecommunication network architecture. Proposition of such an architecture is the Next Generation Network (NGN) concept, which in order to guarantee Quality of Service (QoS), should be correctly designed and dimensioned. For this reason proper traffic models must...

Message Inter-Arrival and Inter-Departure Time Distributions in IMS/NGN Architecture
PublicationCurrently is it assumed that requirements of the information society for delivering multimedia services will be satisfied by the Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture, which includes elements of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solution. In order to guarantee Quality of Service (QoS), NGN has to be appropriately designed and dimensioned. Therefore, proper traffic models should be proposed and applied. This requires determination...

Verification of the Analytical Traffic Model of a Multidomain IMS/NGN Using the Simulation Model
PublicationIn this paper we verify the previously proposed analytical traffic model of a multidomain Next Generation Network (NGN), which is standardized for delivering multimedia services based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). For this reason a proper simulation model used, in which not theoretical queuing system models but the operation of real network elements and standardized call scenarios are accurately implemented. Consequently,...

Performance Evaluation of a Multidomain IMS/NGN Network Including Service and Transport Stratum
PublicationThe Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture was proposed for delivering various multimedia services with guaranteed quality. For this reason, the elements of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) concept (an important part of 4G/5G/6G mobile networks) are used in its service stratum. This paper presents comprehensive research on how the parameters of an IMS/NGN network and traffic sources influence mean Call Set-up Delay (E(CSD))...

On extending open source IMS platform for integrated IPTV and VoIP services over IPv6
PublicationEven when IMS is the most popular platform for multimedia services, the open versions of IMS ecosystem are lacking in specified functionalities for IPTVv6 and VoIPv6 services. In this paper, we extend current client and server open source software in order to provide reliability and security to these multimedia services. As a part of our work the IMS architecture for conferencing system with proposed mechanisms to improve system...
