Jan Sierzputowski is a student at the Doctoral School of the Gdańsk University of Technology. His main interests are designing sailing yachts, improving the design process and human-centred design. In his professional work, he deals with sails, masts, rigging, deck equipment and its optimization for the end user. He graduated from engineering and master's studies at the Gdańsk University of Technology at the Faculty of Shipbuilding and Ship Architecture, specializing in Yacht Design. He is an active sea and inland sailor in the rank of Yacht Sea Helmsman and PZŻ sailing instructor. He worked for 4 years at Sail Service - the largest sailmakery in Poland, where he equipped sailing yachts with deck equipment and rigging. He took part in the repair of the Polish sailing ship "Kapitan Głowacki" as a rigging designer. Currently he is employed at the Polish shipyard of luxury catamarans Sunreef, where he is responsible for mooring, anchoring, sailing equipment and rigging.
