Abstrakt
The process of the tissue oxygen supply is the fundamental process of the human life. The lung functioning consists of three processes: the ventilation, the perfusion and the diffusion. The paper deals with one of these processes which is the ventilation process. The quality of the pulmonary ventilation has a strong influence on the patient's health condition. Numerous limitations are imposed on conditions of the lung quality measurement, the most common of which concerns the anatomic shape of the respiratory system. The common one among the measurement methods of the respiratory system is the spirometry test. It assesses the efficiency of the pulmonary ventilation. The spirometry lung functioning test is based on the flow measurement. The presented model of spirometry describes the airflow during the spirometry. The models parameter estimates, obtained on the basis of dynamic spirometry measurements were evaluated with respect to their accuracy. The clinical verification of the model parameter estimates usefulness for diagnostic purposes was performed. The model parameters provide also new information concerning breathing conditions. The attained outcomes allow us to postulate that the spirometry respiratory model parameter estimates could be successfully applied for diagnostic purposes.
