Acoustic Heating Produced in the Thermoviscous Flow of a Shear-Thinning Fluid
PublikacjaThis study is devoted to the instantaneous acoustic heating of a shear-thinningfluid. Apparent viscosity of a shear-thinning fluid depends on the shear rate. Thatfeature distinguishes it from a viscous Newtonian fluid. The special linear combi-nation of conservation equations in the differential form makes it possible to derivedynamic equations governing both the sound and non-wave entropy mode inducedin the field of sound. These...

Magnetoacoustic Heating of Plasma Caused by Periodic MagnetosoundPerturbations with Discontinuities in a Quasi-Isentropic Magnetic Gas
PublikacjaThe magnetoacoustic heating of plasma by harmonic or periodic saw-tooth perturbations at a trans-ducer is theoretically studied. The planar fast and slow magnetosound waves are considered. The wavevector may form an arbitrary angleθwith the equilibrium straight magnetic field. In view of variableθand plasma-β, the description of magnetosound perturbations and appropriate magnetosound heatingis fairly difficult. The scenario of...

Detection of Objects Buried in the Sea Bottom with the Use of Parametric Echosounder
PublikacjaThe paper contains results of a in situ research main task of which was to detect objects buried, partially or completely, in the sea bottom. Object detecting technologies employing acoustic wave sources based on nonlinear interaction of elastic waves require application of parametric sound sources. Detection of objects buried in the sea bottom with the use of classic hydroacoustic devices such as the sidescan sonar or multibeam...

Acoustic streaming caused by some types of aperiodic sound. Buildup of acoustic streaming
PublikacjaThe analysis of streaming caused by aperiodic sound of different types (switched on at transducer sound or sound determined by initial conditions) is undertaken. The analysis bases on analytical governing equation for streaming Eulerian velocity, which is a result of decomposition of the hydrodynamic equations into acoustic and non-acoustic parts. Its driving force (of acoustic nature) represents a sum of two terms; one is the...

The Dynamical Projectors Method Hydro and Electrodynamics
PublikacjaThe dynamical projectors method proves to reduce a multicomponent problem to the simplest one-component problem with its solution determined by specific initial or boundary conditions. Its universality and application in many different physical problems make it particularly useful in hydrodynamics, electrodynamics, plasma physics, and boundary layer problems. A great variety of underlying mechanisms are included making this book...

Searching of the buried objects into the sea bottom by means of nonlinear acouctic methods
PublikacjaThe main goal of this paper is to introduce the methodology of preparing the area for investigations that will be carried out at the sea. As the first step there is recognition of the basic method both in the theory as well as experimental investigation. There were taken into account the nonlinear methods. These ones are very promising methods that have very interesting features, very convenient for examinations of the seabed structure....

Unusual streaming in chemically reacting gases
PublikacjaNonlinear stimulation of the vorticity mode caused by losses in the momentum of sound in the chemically reacting gas, is considered. The instantaneous dynamic equation which describes the nonlinear generation of the vorticity mode, is derived. It includes a quadratic nonlinear acoustic source. Both periodic and aperiodic sound may be considered as the origin of the vorticity flow. In the non-equilibrium regime of the chemical reaction,...

The vortex flow caused by sound in a bubbly liquid
PublikacjaGeneration of vorticity in the field of intense sound in a bubbly liquid in the free half-space is considered. The reasons for generation of vorticity are nonlinearity, diffraction, and dispersion. Acoustic streaming differs from that in a Newtonian fluid. Under some conditions, the vortex flow changes its direction. Conclusions concern streaming induced by a harmonic or an impulse Gaussian beam.

Vortex flow caused by periodic and aperiodic sound in a relaxing maxwell fluid
PublikacjaThis paper concerns the description of vortex flow generated by periodic and aperiodic sound in relaxing Maxwell fluid. The analysis is based on governing equation of vorticity mode, which is a result of decomposition of the hydrodynamic equations for fluid flow with relaxation and thermal conductivity into acoustical and non-acoustical parts. The equation governing vorticity mode uses only instantaneous, not averaged over sound...

Acoustic heating produced in resonators filled by a newtonian fluid
PublikacjaAcoustic heating in resonators is studied. The governing equation of acoustic heating is derived by means of the special linear combination of conservation equations in differential form, allowing the reduction of all acoustic terms in the linear part of the final equation, but preserving terms belonging to the thermal mode responsible for heating. This equation is instantaneous and includes nonlinear acoustic terms that form a...

MAGNETOACOUSTIC HEATING AND STREAMING IN A PLASMA WITH FINITE ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY
PublikacjaNonlinear effects of planar and quasi-planar magnetosound perturbations are discussed. Plasma is assumed to be an ideal gas with a finite electrical conductivity permeated by a magnetic filed orthogonal to the trajectories of gas particles. the excitation of non-wave modes in the filed of intense magnetoacoustic perturbations, i.e., magnetoaciustic heating and streaming, is discussed. The analysis includes a derivation if instantaneous...

Interaction of Acoustic and Thermal Modes in the Vibrationally Relaxing Gases. Acoustic Cooling
PublikacjaThe dynamic equation which governs an excess temperature associated with the thermal mode in vibrationally relaxing gas is derived. The nonlinear transfer of acoustic energy to the energy of the thermal mode in a relaxing gas causes slow variation of temperature with time. The nal dynamic equation is instantaneous. All types of sound, including aperiodic, may be considered as an acoustic source of corresponding heating or cooling....
