Tensor Decomposition for Imagined Speech Discrimination in EEG
PublikacjaMost of the researches in Electroencephalogram(EEG)-based Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) are focused on the use of motor imagery. As an attempt to improve the control of these interfaces, the use of language instead of movement has been recently explored, in the form of imagined speech. This work aims for the discrimination of imagined words in electroencephalogram signals. For this purpose, the analysis of multiple variables...

Graph decomposition for improving memoryless periodic exploration
W niniejszej pracy poprawiamy to ograniczenie do 4n-2, stosując całkowicie nową technikę dekompozycji grafu.

Approximation task decomposition for artificial neural network.
PublikacjaW pracy przedstawiono wpływ dekompozycji zadania na czasochłonność projektowania oraz dokładność i szybkość obliczeń sztucznej sieci neuronowej wykorzystanej do rozwiązania rzeczywistego problemu technicznego, którego matematyczny model był znany. Celem obliczeń prowadzonych przez sieć neuronową było określenie wartości współczynnika przepływu m na podstawie znajomości wartości: przewodności dźwiękowej C i średnicy przewodu d (a...

Epigenetic inhibitor zebularine activates ear pinna wound closure in the mouse
PublikacjaBackground:Most studies on regenerative medicine focus on cell-based therapies and transplantations.Small-molecule therapeutics, though proved effective in different medical conditions, have not been extensivelyinvestigated in regenerative research. It is known that healing potential decreases with development and devel-opmental changes are driven by epigenetic mechanisms, which suggests epigenetic repression of regenerativecapacity.Methods:We...

A review of emotion recognition methods based on keystroke dynamics and mouse movements
PublikacjaThe paper describes the approach based on using standard input devices, such as keyboard and mouse, as sources of data for the recognition of users’ emotional states. A number of systems applying this idea have been presented focusing on three categories of research problems, i.e. collecting and labeling training data, extracting features and training classifiers of emotions. Moreover the advantages and examples of combining standard...

Epigenetic regulation and regeneration: the search for differentially methylated genes in the MRL mouse
PublikacjaThe MRL mouse is an inbred laboratory strain, which was developed in the 60’s of the 20th century and has been extensively used as a model of lupus erythematosus. The regenerative abilities of the strain were discovered in the 90' when the MRL mouse was shown to close 2 mm hole punches made in the ear pinnae four weeks after injury without scarring. The phenomenon has not been observed in other mouse strains, where the holes...

More freedom – more investments. The relationship between the extent of fiscal autonomy with respect to own revenues and investment expenditures of Polish communes and cities with county rights
PublikacjaThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between own revenues characterized by different levels of fiscal autonomy and investment expenditures of selected local government entities in Poland. Accordingly, the following research hypothesis was formulated: there is a relationship between the type of own revenue identified with respect to fiscal autonomy and the size of investment expenditures. Revenues characterized...

Modulated crystal structures - periodicity in more than three dimensions
PublikacjaThe initial definition of a crystal was that it is an object with flat faces. When diffraction studies were developed it turned out that crystal consists of a highly ordered particles and it is possible to isolate a small unique part of their structure - a unit cell - and the definition has been changed to rely on this fact. Nowadays by a crystal we mean any solid having an essentially discrete diffraction diagram. It is because...

Towards more inclusive qualitative research: the practice of interviewing neurominorities
PublikacjaManagement scholars increasingly focus their efforts on the development of neurodivergent human capital and the promotion of inclusive employment and decent work. However, it may be argued that existing research still suffers from the lack of a comprehensive appreciation of what neurominorities may find difficult in the research process or how they interpret what the researchers are doing. In the light of only fragmented advice...

Syntactic modular decomposition of large ontologies with relational database
PublikacjaSupport for modularity allows complex ontologies to be separated into smaller pieces (modules) that are easier to maintain and compute. Instead of considering the entire complex ontology, users may benefit more by starting from a problem-specific set of concepts (signature of problem) from the ontology and exploring its surrounding logical modules. Additionally, an ontology modularization mechanism allows for the splitting up of...
