Cancer stem cells and escape from drug-induced premature senescence in human lung tumor cells: implications for drug resistance and in vitro drug screening models
Jednak post-inkubacja tych komórek prowadzi do powrotu do stanu proliferacji małej frakcji komórek. Powrót do stanu proliferacji komóek A549...

Modulation of mRNA and protein levels of CYP1A1, 1A2, and 1B1 in nontumorigenic breast epithelial cells (MCF10A) by cabbage juice and its active components

Antitumor imidazoacridinone derivative C-1311 induces cell cycle arrest and cellular senescence-like phenotypic changes in human non-small lung A549 cancer cells

Novel methods for diagnosis of pulmonary microangiopathy in diabetes mellitus
PublicationLung microangiopathy is a little known negative influence of diabetes mellitus on the functioning of the lungs. In current medical practice lung microangiopathy is diagnosed by comparing two measurements of lung diffusing capacity - one with the subject standing and one with the subject lying. The necessity to take two measurements is inconvenient. In lung microangiopathy we observe a reduction of diffusing capacity, lung flow...

Spirometry measurement model - the diagnostic purpose support
Publicationthe paper presents a new model of respiratory mechanism based on the spirometry measurements. the spirometry test assesses the efficiency of the lung ventilation. the respiratory system functioning is based on the ventilation mechanism. thus the quality of the lung depends on the quality of lung ventilation. modelling of the respiratory system supports a diagnostic process. the model parameter estimates are obtained on the basis...

Skład i zawartość kwasów tłuszczowych w mleku kobiet z gdańska i okolic w różnych okresach laktacji = Fatty acid composition in breast milk of women from gdańsk and the surrounding district in the course of lactation
Skład i...

Modelling of spirometry - the application for diagnostic purposes
PublicationThe process of the tissue oxygen supply is the fundamental process of the human life. The lung functioning consists of three processes: the ventilation, the perfusion and the diffusion. The paper deals with one of these processes which is the ventilation process. The quality of the pulmonary ventilation has a strong influence on the patient's health condition. Numerous limitations are imposed on conditions of the lung quality measurement,...

Isothiocyanates may chemically detoxify mutagenic amines formed in heat processed meat
PublicationMeat consumption represents a dietary risk factor increasing the incidence of common cancers, probably due to carcinogenic amines (HAAs) formed upon meat heating. Interestingly, cancers whose incidence is increased by meat consumption, are decreased in populations consuming brassica vegetables regularly. This inverse correlation is attributed to brassica anticarcinogenic components, especially isothiocyanates (ITCs) that stimulate...
