  • A Novel Coupling Matrix Synthesis Technique for Generalized Chebyshev Filters With Resonant Source–Load Connection

This paper reports a novel synthesis method for microwave bandpass filters with resonant source–load connection. In effect, a network realizing N+1 transmission zeros (where N is the number of reflection zeros) is obtained. The method is based on a prototype transversal coupling matrix (N+2, N+2) with source and load connected by a resonant circuit formed by a capacitor in parallel with a frequency-invariant susceptance. To complement...

  • Implementation of multi-operand addition in FPGA using high-level synthesis

    Publication

The paper presents the results of high-level synthesis (HLS) of multi-operand adders in FPGA using the Vivado Xilinx environment. The aim was to estimate the hardware amount and latency of adders described in C-code. The main task of the presented experiments was to compare the implementations of the carry-save adder (CSA) type multi-operand adders obtained as the effect of the HLS synthesis and those based on the basic component...

  • Electromagnetic-based derivation of fractional-order circuit theory

In this paper, foundations of the fractional-order circuit theory are revisited. Although many papers have been devoted to fractional-order modelling of electrical circuits, there are relatively few foundations for such an approach. Therefore, we derive fractional-order lumped-element equations for capacitors, inductors and resistors, as well as Kirchhoff’s voltage and current laws using quasi-static approximations of fractional-order...

  • Capacitively coupled ECG measurements - a CMRR circuit improvement

A typical galvanic-connected electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement system utilizes two signal’s electrodes and a third one in driven-right-leg (DRL) circuit for improving a common-mode rejection ratio(CMRR) of the acquisition system. In capacitive-coupled ECG similar techniques are used, however it is expected, that the utilized DRL subsystem is formed using a capacitive coupling approach, too. An improvement of the acquisition system...

  • Fractional Order Circuit Elements Derived from Electromagnetism

    Publication

    - Year 2019

In this paper, derivations of fractional-order (FO) circuit-element equations from electromagnetism are presented. Whilst many papers are devoted to FO modelling of electrical circuits, there are no strong foundations for such an approach. Therefore, we investigate relations between the FO electromagnetism and the FO circuit theory. Our derivations start from quasi-static (QS) approximations of Maxwell's equations in media with...

  • Naval mine detection system based of FPGA circuit

Electrochemical processes take place in a metal object immersed into sea water even if an anticorrosive coating is applied [1]. As a result, flowing field appears around the object. There are naval mines between many other objects situated in the sea. Naval mines can be put in the seabed in order to be more difficult to detect by sonars. Such a mine is located on the line demarking two environments of different electrical conductivity....
