Raman scattering measurements in monitoring of polymer synthesis process. Lightmetry 2002 : Metrology and Testing Techniques Using Light.
PublicationW artykule omówiono możliwości wykorzystania pomiarów ramanowskich do monitorowania w czasie rzeczywistym przebiegu procesów syntezy materiałów polimerowych. Wykorzystano sondy światłowodowe do sprzęgnięcia aparatury pomiarowej z typowym stanowiskiem technologicznym. Pomiary miały charakter zdalny, nieniszczący i niezakłócający przebieg reakcji.

Reducing average and peak temperatures of VLSI CMOS circuits by means of evolutionary algorithm applied to high level synthesis.
PublicationW pracy przedstawiono adaptacyjny algorytm ewolucyjny zastosowany do syntezy wysokiego poziomu układów cyfrowych CMOS w celu zredukowania pobieranej przez nie mocy. Prowadzi to do redukcji szczytowej i średniej temperatury układu scalonego. Dzięki temu uzyskuje się wzrost niezawodności projektowanych układów scalonych.

Synthesis, physical properties and preliminary investigation of hemocompa-tibility of polyurethanes from aliphatic resources with castor oil participation
PublicationWykonano syntezy PUR z oligoeterodiolu, dioli małocząsteczkowych, oleju rycynowego i 4,4´diizocyjanianudicykloheksylometanu. Oznaczono właściwości mechaniczne PUR, kąty zwilżania i napięcie powierzchniowe. Opisano wstępne badania zgodności PUR z ludzką krwią oraz kalcyfikacji powierzchni PUR w warunkach statycznych in vitro. Napięcie powierzchniowe otrzymanych PUR jest zbliżone do napięcia powierzchniowego naturalnych powierzchni...

Chemically reduced graphene oxide based aerogels - Insight on the surface and textural functionalities dependent on handling the synthesis factors
PublicationEfficient adjusting of reduced graphene oxide aerogels properties requires information about experimental factor-aerogel property relationship. In this work, the reduced graphene oxide aerogels surface and textural functionalities in relation to precursor concentration, gelation time and hydrogel freezing temperature were studied in detail, with the use of dynamic adsorption method of gaseous organic probes and experimental design....

Synthesis, structure and physical properties of new intermetallic spin glass-like compounds RE2PdGe3 (RE = Tb and Dy)
PublicationNew intermetallic compounds Tb2Pd1.25Ge2.75 and Dy2Pd1.25Ge2.75 have been synthesized using the arc-melting method. The crystallographic structure and magnetic, electronic transport, and thermal properties are reported. The crystal structure obtained from powder x-ray diffraction analysis suggests that these compounds crystallize in the AlB2-type structure (space group P6/mmm, no. 191) with lattice parameters a = 4.228 53(5)/4.230 54...

Influence of synthesis conditions on glass formation, structure and thermal properties in the Na 2 O-CaO-P 2 O 5 system doped with Si 3 N 4 and Mg
PublicationOxynitride phosphate glasses and glass-ceramics were prepared using new synthesis routes for phosphate glasses. Materials were melted from pre-prepared glass samples in the system Na-Ca-P-O with addition of Mg and/or Si3N4 powders under different preparation conditions. The melting process was conducted at 1000–1500 °C either under air or nitrogen atmosphere to obtain materials with different nitrogen content. Their topography...

New 2-[(4-Amino-6-N-substituted-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)methylthio]-N-(imidazolidin-2-ylidene)-4-chloro-5-methylbenzenesulfonamide Derivatives, Design, Synthesis and Anticancer Evaluation
PublicationIn the search for new compounds with antitumor activity, new potential anticancer agents were designed as molecular hybrids containing the structures of a triazine ring and a sulfonamide fragment. Applying the synthesis in solution, a base of new sulfonamide derivatives 20–162 was obtained by the reaction of the corresponding esters 11–19 with appropriate biguanide hydrochlorides. The structures of the compounds were confirmed...

Coupled-Resonator Waveguide Filter in Quadruplet Topology With Frequency-Dependent Coupling - A Design Based on Coupling Matrix
PublicationThis letter presents an application of a recently developed coupling matrix synthesis technique to design of coupled-resonator filters with dispersive inter-resonator couplings. This technique is used to design a novel coupled-cavity bandpass filter. Measurements validate the design and confirm effectiveness of the synthesis method. The filter is a four-pole generalized Chebyshev filter with three transmission zeros. Resonators...

Rengel Cane Sia Doctoral Candidate
PeopleI’m Rengel, born and raised in the Philippines. As an undergraduate I did kinetic modeling on Copper-catalyzed atom transfer radical addition (ATRA). Then I was inspired to do both theoretical and experimental studies, which led me to propose my master’s thesis on Synthesis, Computational, Electrochemical, and Photoconductivity Studies on Naphthalene and its derivatives. This led to a master’s degree in Chemistry in the Mindanao...

Simple synthesis route for fabrication of protective photo‐crosslinked poly(zwitterionic) membranes for application in non‐enzymatic glucose sensing
PublicationThis work focuses on the fabrication of non-enzymatic glucose sensing materials based on laser-formed Au nanoparticles embedded in Ti-textured substrates. Those materials possess good catalytic activity toward glucose oxidation in 0.1 × phosphate buffered saline as well as resistance to some interferants, such as ascorbic acid, urea, and glycine. The electrodes are further coated with three different polymers, that is, Nafion,...

Synthesis, characteristics, and photocatalytic activity of zinc oxide nanoparticles stabilized on the stone surface for degradation of metronidazole from aqueous solution
PublicationAbstract Background: The presence of antibiotics such as metronidazole in wastewater even at low concentrations requires searching for a suitable process such as advanced oxidation process (AOP) to reduce the level of pollutants to a standard level in water. Methods: In this study, zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles were synthesized by thermal method using zinc sulfate (ZnSO4) as a precursor, then, stabilized on stone and was used...

Diamine derivatives of dimerized fatty acids and bio-based polyether polyol as sustainable platforms for the synthesis of non-isocyanate polyurethanes
PublicationA series of environmentally friendly non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs) were successfully prepared via the polyaddition reaction of bio-based polyether polyol-based cyclic carbonate with diamine derivative of dimerized fatty acids. The syntheses of NIPUs were realized by the three-step method in the absence of toxic solvents and, importantly, the process of carbonation did not require the use of elevated pressure. The effect...
