Photoluminescence as a probe of phosphorene properties
PublicationHere, we provide a detailed evaluation of photoluminescence (PL) as a comprehensive tool for phosphorene characterization with the emphasis on a prominent quantitative role of PL in providing fingerprint-like features due to its extreme sensitivity to the band structure details, anisotropy, disorder, external fields, etc. Factors such as number of layers, dimensionality, structural and chemical disorder, and environmental factors...

NON-LINE ANALYSIS OF STIFFNESS IN COMPRESSION CONDITIONS
PublicationThe analyzes were aimed at demonstrating the influence of parameters describing the deformation of the structure on the uncertainty of critical force, and the impact of technological imperfections on stress uncertainty in compression conditions. In a linear buckling analysis, the problem is considered only for the initial, permanent state of the stiffness matrix. In the case of demonstrating the influence of initial deformations...

Non invasive optical cellular imaging in humans.
PublicationOne of the most appealing and still unsolved problems in biological and medical imaging is the possibility of noninvasive visualization of tissue in vivo with an accuracy of microscopic examination. A major difficulty to solve in biomedical imaging is a degradation of image quality caused by the presence of optical inhomogeneity of tissue. Is there any chance to develop a microscopic method that allows non-invasive observation...

Non contact multiband method for emissivity measurment.
PublicationW pracy omówiona została metoda bezkontaktowego wielopasmowgo pomiaru emisyjności. W oparciu o opracowany algorytm zbadany został wpływ poszczególnych elementów systemu i czynników zakłócających na dokładność wyznaczania emisyjności. Wyniki modelowania umożliwiają także ocenę dokładności całego systemu pomiarowego.

Non-standard binary weighted number systems
Kilka z nich przedstawiono w referacie.

Non-isothermal effects in condensation inside tubes

CSR and innovation or CSR as non-technological innovation
PublicationThis chapter investigates the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and innovation process. There is an ongoing discussion in the literature regarding this relationship, in particular on its one- or bidirectional nature and possible antecedents or mediating factors. This research addresses this gap and aims to provide more conceptual clarity and synthesize the different types of relationships between CSR and...

Cluster organization as a form of non-technological innovation
PublicationThe paper aims to investigate the relationships that cluster enterprises develop with their environment through participation in cluster organization (CO). The authors report the findings from a qualitative study carried out in the Lubusz Metal Cluster. The main research strategy is case study. An in-depth individual interview was used to collect the data, and qualitative content analysis and coding for its analysis. The study...

Objectivity in the non-Markovian spin-boson model
PublicationObjectivity constitutes one of the main features of the macroscopic classical world. An important aspect of the quantum-to-classical transition issue is to explain how such a property arises from the microscopic quantum theory. Recently, within the framework of open quantum systems, there has been proposed such a mechanism in terms of the so-called spectrum broadcast structures. These are multipartite quantum states of the system...

A non-linear direct peridynamics plate theory
PublicationIn this paper a direct non-local peridynamics theory for thin plates is developed. Peridynamic points are assumed to behave like rigid bodies with independent translation and finite rotation degrees of freedom. The non-local mechanical interaction between points is characterized by force and moment vectors. The balance equations including the linear momentum, the angular momentum and the energy are presented. Peridynamic deformation...

Non-Diophantine Arithmetics in Mathematics, Physics and Psychology
PublicationFor a long time, all thought there was only one geometry — Euclidean geometry. Nevertheless, in the 19th century, many non-Euclidean geometries were discovered. It took almost two millennia to do this. This was the major mathematical discovery and advancement of the 19th century, which changed understanding of mathematics and the work of mathematicians providing innovative insights and tools for mathematical research and applications...

Special Issue: “Non-Destructive Testing of Structures”
PublicationThe Special Issue “Non-Destructive Testing of Structures” has been proposed to present recent developments in the field of diagnostics of structural materials and components in civil and mechanical engineering. The papers highlighted in this editorial concern various aspects of non-invasive diagnostics, including such topics as condition assessments of civil and mechanical structures and connections of structural elements, the...

Assessment of Trajectories of Non-bankrupt and Bankrupt Enterprises
PublicationThe aim of this study is to show how long-term trajectories of enterprises can be used to increase the forecasting horizon of bankruptcy prediction models. The author used seven popular forecasting models (two from Europe, two from Asia, two from North America and one from Latin America). These models (five multivariate discriminant analysis models and two logit models) were used to develop 17-year trajectories separately for non-bankrupt...

Bio and slide biobearings, their lubrication by non-newtonian fluids and application in non-conventional systems. Vol. 1, Principles of human joint lubrication with non-newtonian liquids for deformable bone and cartilage in magnetic field
PublicationW monografii przedstawiono zasady smarowania stawów człowieka o odkształcalnych chrząstkach i powierzchniach kostnych w polach indukcji magnetycznej. Uwzględnione zostały nienewtonowskie, lepkosprężyste właściwości cieczy synowialnych jako czynnika smarującego. Monografia prezentuje rozkłady wartości ciśnienia i nośności stawów człowieka w warunkach niestacjonarnego smarowania dla drgań o różnych amplitudach i częstotliwościach...

Electron impact ionization of CCl4 and SF6 embedded in superfluid helium droplets
