Abstrakt
This paper presents a method of producing auxetic polyurethane foams (PUFs) and their unique properties. The experience was based on a synthesis of traditional flexible polyurethane foam and thermal conversion to auxetic foam. The foam specimens were transformed from conventional Poisson's ratio to auxetic (negative Poisson's ratio) [1]. Basic research was performed to determine the mechanical properties and cell structure. Auxetic polyurethane foams are characterized by unique properties due to their structure. Auxetic materials are known to exhibit various enhanced physical characteristics over their conventional counterparts ranging from increased indentation resistance to improved acoustic damping properties. These enhanced characteristics make auxetic materials perform better in many practical applications [2].A number of materials made by different methods and presents their basic properties. Received materials with different mechanical properties depending on the amount of compression, temperature and exposure time. The mechanical properties was confirmed by the static tensile and compressive strength, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMA), the cell structure was studied with scanning electron microscope (SEM).
