Optical sensor of a person sitting on a chair and dressed in multi-layered clothes vital signs monitoring
PublikacjaAn optoelectronic device enhancing a smart chair functionality is presented in the paper. Its essential purpose is a detection of a sitting person presence on the chair by means of detecting the vital signs. Additionally, it could be used for determining of clothes layer parameters useful in adjusting a system of a capacitive electrocardiography.

Electrical Propterties of Solution Mixtures for Bath Supervision in Ambient Assisted Living
PublikacjaImpedance properties of bath solution are compared. Any ingredient such as soap, shampoo or bathing salt changes bath-solution’s electrical properties eg. impedance. We have measured and analysed influence of typical bathing ingredients on electrical properties of the solution. We investigate impedance changes over frequency range from 100Hz tu 100kHz as it is most applicable for person detection. Electrical properties of bath...

An Implementation of a Compact Smart Resistive Sensor Based on a Microcontroller with an Internal ADC
PublikacjaIn the paper a new implementation of a compact smart resistive sensor based on a microcontroller with internal ADCs is proposed and analysed. The solution is based only on a (already existing in the system) microcontroller and a simple sensor interface circuit working as a voltage divider consisting of a reference resistor and the resistive sensor connected in parallel with an interference suppression capacitor. The measurement...

Respiratory signals derived from capacitive electrocardiogram on the smart chair
PublikacjaCapacitive electrocardiogram (CECG) tends to deliver basic cardiac signals without need to use traditional glued electrodes. In the paper analysis of possibility if the ECG derived respiratory waveforms out of the CECG.

Assessment of cardiovascular risk in assisted living
W artykule przedstawiono nasobny system pomiarowy integrujący wiele pomiarów przydatnych do oceny problemów kardiologicznych.Disorders of the heart and blood vessels are the leading cause of health problems...

A compact smart sensor based on a neural classifier for objects modeled by Beaunier's model
PublikacjaA new solution of a smart microcontroller sensor based on a simple direct sensor-microcontroller interface for technical objects modeled by two-terminal networks and by the Beaunier’s model of anticorrosion coating is proposed. The tested object is stimulated by a square pulse and its time voltage response is sampled four times by the internal ADC of microcontroller. A neural classifier based on measurement data classifies the...

Big Data from Sensor Network via Internet of Things to Edge Deep Learning for Smart City
PublikacjaData from a physical world is sampled by sensor networks, and then streams of Big Data are sent to cloud hosts to support decision making by deep learning software. In a smart city, some tasks may be assigned to smart devices of the Internet of Things for performing edge computing. Besides, a part of workload of calculations can be transferred to the cloud hosts. This paper proposes benchmarks for division tasks between an edge...

Soft Sensor Application in Identification of the Activated Sludge Bulking Considering the Technological and Economical Aspects of Smart Systems Functioning
PublikacjaThe paper presented the methodology for the construction of a soft sensor used for activated sludge bulking identification. Devising such solutions fits within the current trends and development of a smart system and infrastructure within smart cities. In order to optimize the selection of the data-mining method depending on the data collected within a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), a number of methods were considered, including:...
