On some problems in determining tensile parameters of concrete model from size effect tests
PublikacjaThe paper presents results of numerical simulations of size effect phenomenon in concrete specimens. The behaviour of in-plane geometrically similar notched and unnotched beams under three-point bending is investigated. In total 18 beams are analysed. Concrete beams of four different sizes and five different notch to depth ratios are simulated. Two methods are applied to describe cracks. First, an elasto-plastic constitutive law...

Experimental tests for the determination of mechanical properties of PVC foil
PublikacjaThe paper presents an application of the PVC film in civil engineering. Mechanical behaviour of the PVC film applied for suspended ceilings, in the form of a stretch ceiling is investigated under uniaxial and biaxial tensile tests. The study is focused on the determination of mechanical properties from experimental data (uniaxial and biaxial tensile tests). The uniaxial cyclic tests are performed in order to observe a variation...

Mechanical properties of polyvinyl chloride-coated fabric under cyclic tests
PublikacjaThe aim of the present paper is to propose a method of laboratory tests necessary for the identification of mechanical properties of the coated fabric. The material parameters of the coated fabric AF 9032 are specified on the basis of the uniaxial and biaxial tensile tests. For the identification process, the techniques based on the least squares methods are used. Additionally, the uniaxial and biaxial cyclic tests are performed...

Strength parameters of polyester reinforced PVC coated fabric after short term creep loading in biaxial mode
PublikacjaThis study addresses the analysis of tensile strength parameters of the technical fabric VALMEX, which is composed of two orthogonal polyester thread families (named the warp and fill) and both sides PVC coated. The material was firstly subjected to 48-hour biaxial creep loading with the equal stress level in both orthogonal directions of the fabric. The stress levels were established as follows: 4.6 kN/m, 10.4 kN/m, 16.4 kN/m,...

Mechanical properties for preliminary design of structures made from PVC coated fabric
PublikacjaIn this paper, laboratory tests necessary for the identification of non-linear elastic immediate properties of the PVC coated polyester fabric (like AF 9032) are described. The material parameters are specified on the basis of the uniaxial tensile tests in the warp and weft directions as well as on the base of the biaxial tensile tests. For the identification process techniques based on the least squares method are used. The authors...
