Experimental and numerical studies of guided wave damage detection in bars with structural discontinuities
PublikacjaPraca dotyczy analizy propagacji fal podłużnych i poprzecznych w elementach prętowych z nieciągłościami strukturalnymi.

Modelling of in-plane wave propagation in a plate using spectral element method and Kane-Mindlin theory with application to damage detection
PublikacjaThis paper presents results of experimental and numerical analyses of in-plane waves propagatingin a 5 mm-thick steel plate in the frequency range of 120-300 kHz. For such a thickness/frequency ratio, extensional waves reveal dispersive character. To model in-plane wave propagation taking into account thethickness-stretch effect, a novel 2D spectral element, based on the Kane-Mindlin theory, was formulated. Anapplication of in-plane...

Proportional-Derivative and Model-Based Controllers for Control of a Variable Mass Manipulator
PublikacjaIn the paper, numerical analysis of dynamics of a variable mass manipulator is presented. A revolute joints composed manipulator is considered. Payload of the gripper is considered as the only element characterized by unknown value of its mass (variable between subsequent operations). As in other cases of the revolute joints composed manipulators, its behaviour dependents significantly on the pose of the manipulator. When the manipulator...

The Effect of Circular Saw Blade Clamping Diameter on its Resonant Frequencies
PublikacjaIn this paper results of comparison of characteristic resonant frequencies of circular saw blades as a function of the saw clamping diameter from the impact test are presented. Obtained results revealed that proportionally with the increase of the saw clamping diameter also the dynamical stiffness of the saw blade increased. As a consequence of that the resonant frequencies of the saw blade move to higher values. Moreover, with...

Wideband Radio Direction Finder Implemented in Software Defined Radio Technology
PublikacjaIn the paper a wideband radio direction finder (RDF) implemented in software defined radio (SDR) technology and the results of hardware layer research, including developed antenna switching unit (ASU), are presented. The results of tests of the devices, which are the part of the software defined radio platform (SDRP), and antenna switching unit, confirmed the possibility of using selected components in the final solution.

Research and Analysis of Accuracy of Location Estimation in Inertial Navigation System
PublikacjaIn the article the research and analysis of digital signal processing and its influence on accuracy of location estimation in developed inertial navigation system was presented. The purpose of the system is to localize moving people in indoor environment. During research a measuring unit for recording selected movement parameters was made. In the article were also described author’s inertial navigation algorithms.

The Influence of Stretch Rod Speed on the Relationship between Preblown Bottle Aesthetic Quality and Final Blown Bottle Thickness Profile in Stretch Blow Molding from Preform Process
PublikacjaFrom a mechanical point of view, the aesthetic quality of preblown PET bottles and thickness profile of final blown PET bottles manufactured in ISBM process are determined by mechanical and thermal response of blown preforms. From the microscopic point of view the biggest influence on the mechanical and thermal properties of PET bottles have orientation and crystallization processes. From a technological point of view, the aesthetic...

Weldability of S460ML High Strength Low Alloy Steel in Underwater Conditions
PublikacjaThe paper presents experimental evaluation of susceptibility of the high strength S460ML steel to cold cracking in the conditions of wet welding with the use of covered electrodes. From the results of Tekken tests it was found out that the investigated steel was characterised, in the conditions of the carried out experiments (underwater wet welding and air welding with rutile electrodes), of high susceptibility to cold cracking....

Behaviour of Colliding Multi-Storey Buildings under Earthquake Excitation Considering Soil-Structure Interaction
PublikacjaThis paper investigates the coupled effect of the supporting soil flexibility and pounding between neighbouring, insufficiently separated buildings under earthquake excitation. Two adjacent three-storey structures, modelled as inelastic lumped mass systems with different structural characteristics, have been considered in the study. The models have been excited using the time history of the Kobe earthquake of 1995. A nonlinear...

On dynamic modeling of piezomagnetic/flexomagnetic microstructures based on Lord–Shulman thermoelastic model
PublikacjaWe study a time-dependent thermoelastic coupling within free vibrations of piezomagnetic (PM) microbeams considering the flexomagnetic (FM) phenomenon. The flexomagneticity relates to a magnetic field with a gradient of strains. Here, we use the generalized thermoelasticity theory of Lord–Shulman to analyze the interaction between elastic deformation and thermal conductivity. The uniform magnetic field is permeated in line with...

Turbulence model evaluation for numerical modelling of turbulent flow and heat transfer of nanofluids
PublikacjaIn this work, Nusselt number and friction factor are calculated numerically for turbulent pipe flow (Reynolds number between 6000 and 12000) with constant heat flux boundary condition using nanofluids. The nanofluid is modelled with the single-phase approach and the simulation results are compared with experimental data. Ethylene glycol and water, 60:40 EG/W mass ratio, as base fluid and SiO2 nanoparticles are used as nanofluid...
