Pitch estimation of narrowband-filtered speech signal using instantaneous complex frequency
PublicationIn this paper we propose a novel method of pitch estimation, based on instantaneous complex frequency (ICF). New iterative algorithm for analysis of ICF of speech signal in presented. Obtained results are compared with commonly used methods to prove its accuracy and connection between ICF and pitch, particularly for narrowband-filtered speech signal.

An Empirical Model for the Polarisation Characteristics of Indoor Off-Body Channels
PublicationThis paper presents an analysis of the polarisation characteristics for the channel in dynamic off-body communications, and an empirical channel model, based on measurements performed at 2.45 GHz in an office environment. Body presence and propagation conditions have a strong influence on signal depolarisation. The model assumes three components for the total path loss: mean path loss, represented by a log-distance function with...

An Approach to Mean Path Loss Model Estimation for Off-Body Channels
PublicationThis paper presents an approach to estimation of the mean path loss model parameters in off-body Body Area Networks channels. In this approach, the path loss exponent is constrained to a value obtained for the line-of-sight (LoS) propagation in the co-polarised channel, considering a generalised static scenario. The comparison of the goodness of fit between the proposed approach and other approaches, for a set of measurements obtained...

ANALIZA POLARYZACJI I TŁUMIENIA FAL RADIOWYCH W SIECIACH WBAN TYPU OFF-BODY

Own or public? Later livelihoods of Ukrainian war migrant households in Poland
PublicationThis paper presents empirical research on the livelihood resources of Ukrainian households that fled to Poland due to the Russian invasion and reside there long term. Using a nationwide sample of these households and an accurate econometric framework, we investigate the factors influencing the role of income from work, other private resources and public assistance in covering their living costs in exile. Our findings confirm the...

Badanie i analiza efektu cienia radiowego w sieciach WBAN typu off-body i body-to-body
PublicationW referacie zaprezentowano prosty model matematyczny, opisujący efekt cienia radiowego powodowany przez ciało ludzkie w sieciach WBAN typu off-body i body-to-body.

Fading Characteristics for Dynamic Body-to-Body Channels in Indoor and Outdoor Environments
PublicationThis paper presents an analysis of the fading characteristics in dynamic body-to-body channels, based on measurements performed at 2.45 GHz in indoor and outdoor environments. The statistical analysis of the small- and large-scale fading shows that the Nakagami Distribution is the best model for the former and the Log-Normal one for the latter. An important influence of body shadowing...

Dataset of non-isomorphic graphs of the coloring types (K3,Km;n), 2<m<7, 1<n<R(3,m)
Open Research DataFor K3 and Km graphs, a coloring type (K3,Km;n) is such an edge coloring of the full Kn graph, which does not have the K3 subgraph in the first color (representing by no edges in the graph) or the Km subgraph in the second color (representing by edges in the graph). The Ramsey number R(3,m) is the smallest natural number n such that for any edge coloring...

Phase I and phase II metabolism simulation of antitumor-active 2-hydroxyacridinone with electrochemistry coupled on-line with mass spectrometry.
PublicationHere, we report the metabolic profile and the results of associated metabolic studies of 2-hydroxyacridinone (2-OH-AC), the reference compound for antitumor-active imidazo- and triazoloacridinones. Electrochemistry coupled with mass spectrometry was applied to simulate the general oxidative metabolism of 2-OH-AC for the first time. The reactivity of 2-OH-AC products to biomolecules was also examined. The usefulness of the electrochemistry...

Numerical Analysis of Turbulent Flow over a Backward-facing Step in an Open Channel
PublicationComputational examinations of the flow field in an open channel having a single Backward--Facing Step (BFS) with a constant water depth of 1.5 m were performed. The effects of the expansion ratio, and the flow velocity along the reattachment length, were investigated by employing two different expansion ratios of 1.5 and 2, and eight various flow velocities of 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7.5 and 10 m/sec in the Computational Fluid Dynamic...

Corrosion-inhibiting effect of Mimosa extract on brass-MM55 corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 acidic media

Improved finite element method for flow, heat and solute transport of Prandtl liquid via heated plate
PublicationIn the current study, a vertical, 3D-heated plate is used to replicate the generation of heat energy and concentration into Prandtl liquid. We discuss how Dufour and Soret theories relate to the equations for concentration and energy. In order to see how efectively particles, interact with heat and a solvent, hybrid nanoparticles are used. It does away with the phenomena of viscous dissipation and changing magnetic felds. The motivation...

Magnetic field effects in dye-sensitized solar cells controlled by different cell architecture
PublicationThe charge recombination and exciton dissociation are generally recognized as the basic electronic processes limiting the efficiency of photovoltaic devices. In this work, we propose a detailed mechanism of photocurrent generation in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) examined by magnetic field effect (MFE) technique. Here we demonstrate that the magnitude of the MFE on photocurrent in DSSCs can be controlled by the radius and...
