A Measurable Selector in Kadison’s Carpenter’s Theorem
PublicationWe show the existence of a measurable selector in Carpenter’s Theorem due to Kadison. This solves a problem posed by Jasper and the first author in an earlier work. As an application we obtain a characterization of all possible spectral functions of shift-invariant subspaces of L 2 (R d ) and Carpenter’s Theorem for type I ∞ von Neumann algebras.

Gazowe mieszaniny wzorcowe jako bezmatrycowe materiały odniesienia.
PublicationPrzedstawiono krótko problemy związane z wytwarzaniem certyfikowanych gazowych mieszanin wzorcowych związków organicznych, zwrócono ponadto uwagę na ciągle niedostateczną ofertę tego typu materiałów. Omówiono podejście oparte na wykorzystaniu techniki termicznego rozkładu związków powierzchniowych do otrzymywania gazowych mieszanin wzorcowych substancji toksycznych, reaktywnych i o nieprzyjemnym zapachu.

Calibration and metrological approach.
PublicationPrzedstawiono teraźniejsze podejście do procesu kalibracji. Różnorodność definicji dotyczących pomiarów w chemii analitycznej, nierzadko niekonsekwentnych, może wprowadzić w zakłopotanie. W pracy wyjaśniono pojęcia takie jak: kalibracja, substancje wykorzystywane do kalibracji, walidacja, niepewność materiałów odniesienia. Omówiono również pojęcie spójności pomiarowej w odniesieniu do procesu kalibracji.

Application of biotests in environmental research
PublicationPrzedstawiono możliwości wykorzystania testów opartych na wykorzystaniu materiału biologicznego w badaniach środowiskowych. Dokonano klasyfikacji znanych typów biotestów wykorzystywanych do sumarycznej oceny stopnia skażenia poszczególnych elementów środowiska.

GENERAL DYNAMIC PROJECTING OF MAXWELL EQUATIONS
PublicationA complete – system of Maxwell equations is splitting into independent subsystems by means of a special dynamic projecting technique. The technique relies upon a direct link between field components that determine correspondent subspaces. The explicit form of links and corresponding subspace evolution equations are obtained in conditions of certain symmetry, it is illustrated by examples of spherical and quasi-one-dimensional waves.

Application of vibrational spectroscopy, thermal analyses and X-Ray diffraction in the rapid evaluation of the stability in solid-state of ranitidine, famotidine and cimetidine
PublicationThis paper reports the study on applicability of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), near-infrared (NIR) and Raman spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) for the estimation of the chemical stability and photostability of histamine H2-receptor antagonist substances. Ranitidine hydrochloride (RAN), famotidine (FAM) and cimetidine (CIM) were tested and differences in sensitivity were measured...

Sewage sludge pretreatment by low thermal disintegration for better efficacy of sludge digestion process
PublicationThe wastewater water treatment plant (WWTP) sector and it is developing technologies strive to be implement circular economy. The methane production from the sludge digestion process constitute promising source of the renewable energy for WWTP and approaching circular economy assumptions. For this reason, the objective of the study was to examine the modification of sludge characteristics due to the low temperature pretreatment....

Current trends in analytical strategies for determination of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in samples with different matrix compositions – Part 1.: Screening of new developments in sample preparation
PublicationPolybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are ubiquitous compounds in the environment. Restrictions on the use of PBDEs introduced at the beginning of the 21st century have not eliminated these highly persistent and bioaccumulative compounds from the environment. Despite many existing regulations to control and phase out, extensive research on PBDEs is still necessary to fully evaluate the hazard their create to the environment. In...

Influence of Wastewater Treatment Technology on Particle Size Distribution in the Effluent
PublicationSuspended solids in water and wastewater usually carry quite a large load of pollutants (organic substances, nutrients, heavy metals, etc.) adsorbed on the particles surface. Particles of different sizes carry different types and quantities of pollutants. Therefore, particle size distribution is of importance in waster and wastewater treatment. In the article the influence of different treatment technologies on particle size distribution...

Cuticular lipids of insects as potential biofungicides
PublicationThe term ''lipids'' refers to fatty acids, their derivatives and substances related with them biochemically or by the functions in the body. Lipids include compounds with different chemical structure. There are lipids with structures based on long-chain carboxylic acids and their direct derivatives, namely: fatty acids, alkanes, some alkenes, aldehydes and long chain alcohols and their derivatives (esters). The variety of lipid...
