Algorithm for Automatic Wear Estimation of Railway Contact Strips Based on 3D Scanning Results
PublicationElectric rail vehicles use current collection system which consists of overhead contact line and a current collector (pantograph) mounted on the roof of a vehicle. A pantograph is equipped with contact strips, which slide along the contact wire, ensuring steady electric contact. Contact strips are made of carbon layer, fixed to an aluminum carrier. The carbon layer wears down due to friction. Using overly worn contact strips increases...

Highly Integrable Planar-structured Printed Circularly Polarized Antenna for Emerging Wideband Internet of Things Applications in the Millimeter-Wave Band
PublicationThis paper proposes a numerically and experimentally validated printed wideband antenna with a planar geometry for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This design tackles the challenges associated with deploying IoT sensors in remote areas or across extensive geographical regions. The proposed design exploits a coplanar-waveguide-fed modified microstrip line monopole for excitation of circularly polarized waves radiating in...

Nonlinear secondary arc model use for evaluation of single pole auto-reclosing effectiveness
PublicationPurpose – The purpose of this paper is to discuss two evaluation methods of single pole autoreclosing process effectiveness in HV transmission lines. Secondary arc current and recovery voltage results obtained by load flow calculation are compared to the results obtained by the time domain simulations. Moreover, a nonlinear secondary arc implementation is presented. Design/methodology/approach – A computer simulation studies were...

Strategia zmniejszania liczby i skutków wypadków w nocy na drogach krajowych
PublicationW porze ograniczonej widoczności w wypadkach drogowych na drogach krajowych ginie ponad połowa ofiar śmiertelnych. Głównymi ofiarami tych wypadków są piesi i rowerzyści. W artykule zaproponowano strategię działań na drogach krajowych zmierzającą do redukcji liczby ofiar śmiertelnych w wypadkach nocą na drogach krajowych.

Design of a broadband microstrip crossover for ultra-wideband applications
PublicationW pracy przedstawiono badania skrzyżowań linii mikropaskowych do zastosowań w systemach UWB. W procedurze projektowej wykorzystany został model zastępczy skrzyżowania. W celu poprawy parametrów skrzyżowań zaprojektowano dwie konfiguracje obwodów kompensujących. Wyniki numeryczne zweryfikowane zostały eksperymentalnie. Uzyskano dobrą zgodność pomiędzy rezultatami symulacji oraz pomiarów.

Ferrite coupled slot lines circulator.
