Formation of Porous Structure of the Metallic Materials Used on Bone Implants
PublikacjaResearch on improvement of structure and fabrication methods of the bone implants are carried out for many years. Research are aimed to shape the structures, that will have a Young's modulus value similar to the value of the human bones Young's modulus. Depending on theporosity, Young's moduli can even be tailored to match the modulus of bone closer than solid metals can, thus reducing the problems associated with stress shielding...

Biopolimery w konstrukcji nowoczesnych materiałów medycznych o aktywności antydrobnoustrojowej. Cz. II.

Cz. I. Biopolimerowe materiały medyczne - kolagen, chitozan
PublikacjaArtykuł stanowi przegląd literatury dotyczącej możliwości wykorzystania biopolimerów do otrzymywania materiałów opatrunkowych o aktywności antydrobnoustrojowej. Opisano potencjał tkwiący w biopolimerach, takich jak kolagen i chitozan. Omówiono możliwości unieruchomienia w nich a następnie kontrolowanego uwalniania substancji aktywnych, nadających materiałom opatrunkowym właściwości bakteriobójcze, bakteriostatyczne oraz wspomagające...

Coatings in arthroplasty [online]
PublikacjaThe modern coatings used in arthroplasty for long term implants are reviewed. The phosphate coatingsare the most popular technique to improve the bone-implant interfacial strength and promote theosseointegration. The plasma spraying, electrophoretic precipitation, powder metallurgy, ion beamsputtering, high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) combustion spraying, sol-gel technique, biomimeticdeposition are mostly used to obtain the phosphate,...

Optimalization of TiO2 nanotube geometry using fuzzy reasoning approach
PublikacjaThe geometry of TiO2 nanotube layer on titanium, obtained by electrochemical anodization, has been determined by using fuzzy reasoning approach. A proposed method showed the possibility of nanotube array architecture optimization by choosing an appropriate anodization condition. A fuzzy logic controller (FLC) was utilized using Matlab Software.

Self-Organized Nanotubular Oxide Layers on Ti and Ti Alloys
PublikacjaTo improve bioactivity of titanium and titanium, the implant surface modification by formation of self-organized TiO2 nanotube arrays with electrochemical techniques is presented. The influence of electrolyte composition and deposition parameters during anodization is characterized. The enhancement of phosphates deposition by titanium nanotubular structure is discussed. The calcium phosphate ceramics is shown to be uniformly deposited...

Poliuretany do zastosowań w medycynie na bazie poli(ε-aprolaktonodiolu) oraz poliglikolu etylenowego. Poly(ε-caprolactonediol) and polyethylene glycol-based polyurethanes for medical applications
PublikacjaOmówiono sposoby otrzymywania poliuretanów do zastosowań medycznych. W wyniku modyfikacji znanej metody prepolimerowej syntezy otrzymano dwie serii nowych poliuretanów różniących się składem chemicznym, dlaktórych przygotowano pełne charakterystyki właściwości. Wykazano, że wprowadzenie poliglikolu etylenowego do struktury poliestouretanówotrzymanych na bazie polikaprolaktonu znacząco poprawia powinowactwo materiałów do wody, zwiększa...

Chitosan, Collagen and Gelatin in the design of novel materials with antimicrobial acticity
PublikacjaMedical devices containing and releasing antiinfective agents directly on the site of injury are a common group of materials available and widely used in treating difficult to heal wounds. Sustained contact of the active agent to the damaged tissue, needed to inhibit infection and preservation of microbiological purity of the wound, is provided by the immobilization antimicrobial agents on the surface of the matrix material or...
