Gradient versus proper gradient homotopies
PublikacjaWe compare the sets of homotopy classes of gradient and proper gradient vector fields in the plane. Namely, we show that gradient and proper gradient homotopy classi cations are essentially different. We provide a complete description of the sets of homotopy classes of gradient maps from R^n to R^n and proper gradient maps from R^2 to R^2 with the Brouwer degree greater or equal to zero.

Continuation classes for a two-patch vaccination model
Dane BadawczeThis dataset contains selected results of rigorous numerical computations described in Section 5 of the paper "Rich bifurcation structure in a two-patch vaccination model" by D.H. Knipl, P. Pilarczyk, G. Röst, published in SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems (SIADS), Vol. 14, No. 2 (2015), pp. 980–1017, doi: 10.1137/140993934.

Rhetoric at school - a selection of the syllabi from the Academic Gymnasium in Gdańsk - transcription and photographs
Dane BadawczeThe following data set comprises a transcription (in txt and docx formats) and photographs (in jpg format) of the selected records from the Latin-language teaching syllabi termed 'Typus' or 'Catalogus lectionum' (an abbreviated title). Rhetoric is the main thematic criterion behind this choice. Various topics related to rhetoric have been taught not...

Thresholding Strategies for Large Scale Multi-Label Text Classifier
PublikacjaThis article presents an overview of thresholding methods for labeling objects given a list of candidate classes’ scores. These methods are essential to multi-label classification tasks, especially when there are a lot of classes which are organized in a hierarchy. Presented techniques are evaluated using the state-of-the-art dedicated classifier on medium scale text corpora extracted from Wikipedia. Obtained results show that the...

Proper gradient otopies
PublikacjaWe prove that the inclusion of the space of proper gradient local maps into the space of proper local maps induces a bijection between the sets of the respective otopy classes of these maps.

LONG-TERM RISK CLASS MIGRATIONS OF NON-BANKRUPT AND BANKRUPT ENTERPRISES
PublikacjaThis paper investigates how the process of going bankrupt can be recognized much earlier by enterprises than by traditional forecasting models. The presented studies focus on the assessment of credit risk classes and on determination of the differences in risk class migrations between non-bankrupt enterprises and future insolvent firms. For this purpose, the author has developed a model of a Kohonen artificial neural network to...

A Hopf type theorem for equivariant local maps
PublikacjaWe study otopy classes of equivariant local maps and prove a Hopf type theorem for such maps in the case of a real finite-dimensional orthogonal representation of a compact Lie group.

Non-compulsory practical education programme for modernist heritage
PublikacjaA non-compulsory programme for students of architecture that contains more specialised topics beyond the basic subjects is an important educational tool. The advantages include classes in smaller groups, the possibility of practical exercises in real field conditions and the benefits of meeting professional practitioners. This type of programme is particularly useful for teaching architectural heritage of the 20th Century, its...

A Concept of Modeling and Optimization of Applications in Large Scale Systems
PublikacjaThe chapter presents the idea that includes modeling and subsequent optimization of application execution on large scale parallel and distributed systems. The model considers performance, reliability and power consumption. It should allow easy modeling of various classes of applications while reflecting key parameters of both the applications and two classes of target systems: clusters and volunteer based systems. The chapter presents...

Study of Multi-Class Classification Algorithms’ Performance on Highly Imbalanced Network Intrusion Datasets
PublikacjaThis paper is devoted to the problem of class imbalance in machine learning, focusing on the intrusion detection of rare classes in computer networks. The problem of class imbalance occurs when one class heavily outnumbers examples from the other classes. In this paper, we are particularly interested in classifiers, as pattern recognition and anomaly detection could be solved as a classification problem. As still a major part of...

A survey on known values and bounds on the Shannon capacity
PublikacjaIn this survey we present exact values and bounds on the Shannon capacity for different classes of graphs, for example for regular graphs and Kneser graphs. Additionally, we show a relation between Ramsey numbers and Shannon capacity.

A CNN based coronavirus disease prediction system for chest X-rays
PublikacjaCoronavirus disease (COVID-19) proliferated globally in early 2020, causing existential dread in the whole world. Radiography is crucial in the clinical staging and diagnosis of COVID-19 and offers high potential to improve healthcare plans for tackling the pandemic. However high variations in infection characteristics and low contrast between normal and infected regions pose great challenges in preparing radiological reports....

Traffic Type Influence on Performance of OSPF QoS Routing
PublikacjaFeasibility studies with QoS routing proved that the network traffic type has influence on routing performance. In this work influence of self-similar traffic for network with DiffServ architecture and OSPF QoS routing has been verified. Analysis has been done for three traffic classes. Multiplexed On-Off model was used for self-similar traffic generation. Comparison of simulation results was presented using both relative and non-relative...

The Hopf theorem for gradient local vector fields on manifolds
PublikacjaWe prove the Hopf theorem for gradient local vector fields on manifolds, i.e., we show that there is a natural bijection between the set of gradient otopy classes of gradient local vector fields and the integers if the manifold is connected Riemannian without boundary.

Quality evaluation of agricultural distillates using different types of electronic noses
PublikacjaThe paper presents the results of investigation on quality evaluation of agricultural distillates using a prototype of electronic nose instrument and a commercial electronic nose of Fast/Flash GC type – HERACLES II. The prototype was equipped with TGS type semiconductor sensors. HERACLES II included two chromatographic columns with different polarity of stationary phase and two FID detectors. In case of the prototype volatile fraction...

Text Categorization Improvement via User Interaction
PublikacjaIn this paper, we propose an approach to improvement of text categorization using interaction with the user. The quality of categorization has been defined in terms of a distribution of objects related to the classes and projected on the self-organizing maps. For the experiments, we use the articles and categories from the subset of Simple Wikipedia. We test three different approaches for text representation. As a baseline we use...

ON THE NON-LOCALITY OF TRIPARTITE NON-SINGALING BOXES EMERGING FROM WIRINGS
PublikacjaIt has been recently shown, that some of the tripartite boxes admittin g bilocal decom- position, lead to non-locality under wiring operation applied to t wo of the subsystems [R. Gallego et al. Physical Review Letters 109 , 070401 (2012)]. In the following, we study this phenomenon quantitatively. Basing on the known classes of bo xes closed un- der wirings, we introduce multipartite monotones which are count erparts of bipartite ones...
