Thermodynamic modeling of combustion process of the internal combustion engines – an overview
PublikacjaThe mathematical description of combustion process in the internal combustion engines is a very difficult task, due to the variety of phenomena that occurring in the engine from the moment when the fuel-air mixture ignites up to the moment when intake and exhaust valves beginning open. Modeling of the combustion process plays an important role in the engine simulation, which allows to predict incylinder pressure during the combustion,...

TEST FOR ASSESSING THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF VEHICLES WITH INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES
PublikacjaThe most popular method for assessing the energy efficiency of vehicles is to compare the fuel consumption achieved in the conditions of selected approval test. Operating conditions are defined using the speed profiles, usually for only two categories: urban and extra-urban driving. Assessing the energy efficiency of vehicles should be performed using a more detailed classification of conditions. Presented results of comparison...

Quantumness in Diagnostics of Marine Internal Combustion Engines and Other Ship Power Plant Machines
PublikacjaThe article provides proof that the diagnostics of marine internal combustion engines and other ship power plant machines should take into account the randomness and unpredictability of certain events, such as wear, damage, the variations of mechanical and thermal loads, etc., which take place during machine operation. In the article, the energy E, like the other forms (methods) that it can be converted into (heat and work), is...

Identification analysis of dynamic changes in the composition of biogas and their impact on the operation of internal combustion engines

Diagnostic testing of marine propulsion systems with internal combustion engines by means of vibration measurement and results analysis
PublikacjaIn this paper selected issues concerning vibration diagnosis of the mechanical system within marine propulsion units have been presented, carried out on the basis of experimental examinations of a real object in which an exceedance of the allowable vibration’s level had been observed. Used diagnosing system has been characterised. A procedure of longitudinal and transverse vibrations shaft lines of the mechanical system within...

Exhaust gas temperature measurements in diagnostics of turbocharged marine internal combustion engines. Part I. Standard measurements.
PublikacjaThe article discusses the problem of diagnostic informativeness of exhaust gas temperature measurements in turbocharged marine internal combustion engines. Theoretical principles of the process of exhaust gas flow in turbocharger inlet channels are analysed in its dynamic and energetic aspects. Diagnostic parameters are defined which enable to formulate general evaluation of technical condition of the engine based on standard...

EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS IN DIAGNOSTICS OF TURBOCHARGED MARINE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES PART II DYNAMIC MEASUREMENTS
PublikacjaThe second part of the article describes the technology of marine engine diagnostics making use of dynamic measurements of the exhaust gas temperature. Little-known achievements of Prof. S. Rutkowski of the Naval College in Gdynia (now: Polish Naval Academy) in this area are presented. A novel approach is proposed which consists in the use of the measured exhaust gas temperature dynamics for qualitative and quantitative assessment...

Influence of the abrasive grain trajectory on the machining of thin-walled cylinder liners of internal combustion engines with variable kinematics of honing

Analysis of balancing of six-cylinder in-line two-stroke internal combustion engines = Analiza wyrównoważenia silników rzędowych dwusuwowych sześciocylindrowych
PublikacjaW pracy wyprowadzono proste zależności opisujące przebieg momentu od sił bezwładności pierwszego i drugiego rzędu dla wszystkich 60 wariantów wałów korbowych w silniku 6-cylindrowym 2-suwowym rzędowym. Dokonano analizy i porównania poszczególnych wariantów z punktu widzenia momentów wypadkowych od sił bezwładności pierwszego i drugiego rzędu. Porównania dokonano dla dwóch wartości parametru mechanizmu korbowego 0,3 i 0,5.
