VIBRATION PARAMETERS FOR DAMAGE DETECTION IN STRUCTURES
PublikacjaThe aim of this paper is to examine how damage indicators are sensitive to changing number of frequencies and mode shapes and also to number and location of measurement points. The influence of measurement errors was also analyzed for all cases. For the analysis, those damage indicators are chosen which use changes in such modal parameters as natural frequencies and mode shapes and also differences between the curvatures of the damaged...

Self-Optimizing Adaptive Vibration Controller
PublikacjaThis paper presents a new approach to rejection of sinusoidal disturbances acting at the output of a discrete-time linear stable plant with unknown dynamics. It is assumed that the frequency of the sinusoidal disturbance is known, and that the output signal is contaminated with wideband measurement noise. The proposed controller, called SONIC (self-optimizing narrowband interference canceller), combines the coefficient fixing technique,...

A probabilistic description of footbridges vibration serviceability

A probabilistic description of footbridges vibration serviceability

Vibration surveilance for milling of a flexible workpiece
PublikacjaPraca przedstawia przypadek nadzorowania drgań podczas frezowania szybkościowego przedmiotów podatnych z wykorzystaniem aktywnego sterowania optymalnego. System sterowania zawiera czujniki i wzbudniki piezoelektryczne, montowane na powierzchni przedmiotu obrabianego. Do opisu dynamiki układu sterowanego wykorzystano współrzędne hybrydowe. Skuteczność nadzorowania potwierdziły wyniki symulacji komputerowych oraz badań eksperymentalnych.

Vibration testing in buildings and safety of their operation
PublikacjaThe paper presents the issue of vibrations in residential buildings located near roads. It describes the measurement methodology and criteria for assessing the impact of vibrations generated by passing trucks. The article specifies a method to establish the impact on the operation of the examined facilities and it promotes the idea of employing a Bayesian network to determine probabilistically the level of risk to single-family...

Sounding rocket vibration mechanical filter and amplifier
PublikacjaMeasuring accelerations and vibrations of a sounding rocket provides both information for engineers on the launcher vehicle performance as well as environment description for future payload designers. Typically, information on the level of vibration and eigenfrequencies are required to properly design a payload. This paper presents a design of a novel mechanical filter and amplifier for mechanical vibrations. Its key feature is...

THE VIBRATION BASED DIAGNOSTICS OF SHIP PROPULSION SYSTEMS
PublikacjaThe article has been worked out on the basis of the report devoted to the conducted diagnostic investigations of the ship main propulsion unit’s mechanical system. Gdansk University of Technology has been ordered with such investigations by the repair Shipyard carrying out the ship’s overhaul. Diagnostic tests involved measurements and analyses of the vibration signals generated in selected constructional kinematic pairs of the...

Analog modelling in qualitative analysis of vibration propagation
PublikacjaThe theory of dynamic systems is usually used to model the real systems. The models are based on solving ordinary differential equations, partial or difference, which enable obtaining the relation between input signal and the system response (output signal). The analogy between those models and generalized dynamic systems or control systems can be practically used. Vibration propagation can be described in a similar way as the...

VIBRATION DIAGNOSTICS OF FOOTBRIDGE WITH USE OF ROTATION SENSOR
PublikacjaThe benefits of the additional measurement of rotational degrees of free-dom on the performance of the vibration diagnosis of bridges are studied in this paper. The common vibrational diagnostics that uses translational degrees of freedom is extended by measurements of rotations. The study is curried out on a footbridge and the presence of damage as well as its location and size is determined with use of FEM updating procedure....

On the geometrically nonlinear vibration of a piezo-flexomagnetic nanotube
PublikacjaIn order to describe the behavior of thin elements used in MEMS and NEMS, it is essential to study a nonlinear free vibration of nanotubes under complicated external fields such as magnetic environment. In this regard, the magnetic force applied to the conductive nanotube with piezo-flexomagnetic elastic wall is considered. By the inclusion of Euler-Bernoulli beam and using Hamilton’s principle, the equations governing the system...

Vibration surveillance of dynamic systems and production processes
PublikacjaPraca dotyczy poszukiwania sposobów minimalizacji poziomu drgań podczas pracy maszyn i urządzeń wykonujących określone procesy robocze. Do modelowania dyskretnego wykorzystano metodę elementów skończonych. Rozważano dynamikę niestacjonarnego dyskretnego układu sterowanego, którego zachowanie opisano we współrzędnych uogólnionych, jak również - układu hybrydowego. Ten ostatni uzyskano dzięki wyodrębnieniu z całości podukładu stacjonarnego,...
