A procedure for the determination of dichloromethane and tetrachloroethene in water using pervaporation and gas chromatography
PublikacjaIn the present study, pervaporation was applied to the determination of tetrachloroethene (PCE) and dichloromethane (DCM) in liquid samples. PCE is the most commonly used solvent in dry-cleaning processes. PCE belongs to group 2A of carcinogens (probably carcinogenic to humans) according to the classification of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). DCM is also widely used as an industrial solvent for the purification...

Physicochemical aspects of the application of surfactants and biosurfactants in soil remediation

The application of single drop extraction technique for chromatographic determination of solvent residues in edible oils and pharmaceutical products
PublikacjaW pracy przedstawiono zalety i wady techniki ekstrakcji do pojedynczej kropli, będącą prostą i tanią alternatywą dla mikroekstrakcji do fazy stacjonarnej. Ponadto opisano dwie analityczne procedury do chromatograficznego oznaczania wybranych rozpuszczalników organicznych (heksanu, benzenu, toluenu oraz trichlorometanu, 1,1,1-trichloroetanu, tetrachlorometanu, trichloroetylenu, tetrachloroetenu)w olejach jadalnych i próbkach farmaceutycznych....

Problem oznaczania pozostałości rozpuszczalników organicznych w wybranych produktach spożywczych i farmaceutycznych, cz. II
PublikacjaW artykule opisano metody stosowane do oznaczania pozostałości rozpuszczalników w próbkach spożywczych i farmaceutycznych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem etapu przygotowania próbki do analizy. Dokładniej opisano technikę analizy fazy nadpowierzchniowej (HS- headspace) i mikroekstrakcję do fazy stacjonarnej (SPME- solid phase microextraction). Oznaczano następujące zanieczyszczenia: węglowodory aromatyczne i alifatyczne (hexan, benzen,...

Sorption of Chlorinated Solvents on Pine and Oak sawdust
PublikacjaThe article presents assessment of pine and oak sawdusts as sorbents for removal of chlorinated solvents from water. Sawdusts as potential sorbents were characterized with elemental analysis and BET analyses. Sorption capacity was determined for both pine and oak sawdust towards 1,1,2-trichloroethane, tetrachloroethene and 1,1,1,2-tetrachloroethane. Pine sawdust was able to adsorb greater amounts of chlorinated solvents compared...

Monitoring of occupational exposure to volatile organohalogen solvents (VOXs) in human urine samples of dry-cleaner workers by TLHS-DAI-GC-ECD procedure
PublikacjaChlorinated hydrocarbon solvents are often used for dry-cleaning clothes in the laundry industry. The object of this study was to monitor the occupational exposure of dry-clean employees coming into contact with VOXs. 25 workers collected their urine samples before the work shift, after 4 hours of work and after the work shift. The analyses of urine samples and solvents used in dry-cleaning were performed using TLHS-DAI-GC-ECD....

Pervaporation of volatile organohalogen compounds throughpolydimethylsiloxane membrane
PublikacjaThe objective of this work was to apply dense polymeric membranes for pervaporation of tetrachloroethene from aqueous solution. Three membranes were evaluated: polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS-PV1 and PDMSPV2) membranes, and a PDMS with ZSM-5 zeolite filled (PERVAP-1070) membrane. The effect of feed composition on flux and selectivity was also investigated. Tested membranes showed good properties in the separation of tetrachloroethylene,...

Lotne związki chlorowcoorganiczne w strumieniach ścieków i wody procesowej zakładu przemysłowego
