  • Electrodeposited Biocoatings, Their Properties and Fabrication Technologies: A Review

    Publication

Coatings deposited under an electric field are applied for the surface modification of biomaterials. This review is aimed to characterize the state-of-art in this area with an emphasis on the advantages and disadvantages of used methods, process determinants, and properties of coatings. Over 170 articles, published mainly during the last ten years, were chosen, and reviewed as the most representative. The most recent developments...

    - SCRIPTA MATERIALIA - Year 2020

Recent investigations have shown that highly oxygen defective cerium oxides generate non-classical electrostriction that is superior to lead-based ferroelectrics. In this work, we report the effect of field-assisted spark plasma sintering (SPS) on electro-chemo-mechanical properties of calcium doped ceria (CDC). Nanometric powders of Ca.10 nm are rapidly consolidated to form polycrystalline nanostructures with a high degree of...

  • One-step recovery of REE oxalates in electro-leaching of spent NdFeB magnets

    Publication

    - SEPARATION AND PURIFICATION TECHNOLOGY - Year 2020

Recovery of rare-earth elements (REEs) from spent NdFeB magnets is receiving great attention because of high amount of neodymium and potential risk of environmental pollution. In this study, a novel environment-friendly hydrometallurgical route is proposed for efficient recovery of REEs during electrochemical leaching with sulfuric and oxalic acids. With proper adjustment of the electrolyte composition and operating conditions,...

  • Biological properties of chitosan/Eudragit E 100 and chitosan/poly(4-vinylpyridine) coatings electrophoretically deposited on AgNPs-decorated titanium substrate

    Publication

    - MATERIALS LETTERS - Year 2023

The objective of the study was the determination of the response, in contact with human osteoblast-like MG-63 cells, of electrophoretically deposited coatings composed of chitosan (CS), Eudragit E 100 (EE100), or poly(4- vinylpyridine) (P4VP) on a silver nanoparticle (AgNPs)-decorated titanium substrate. Before deposition, the substrate was coated with silver by electro-reduction of silver nitrate. The coatings deposition was carried...

  • Insight into (Electro)magnetic Interactions within Facet-Engineered BaFe12O19/TiO2 Magnetic Photocatalysts

    Publication

A series of facet-engineered TiO2/BaFe12O19 composites were synthesized through hydrothermal growth of both phases and subsequent deposition of the different, faceted TiO2 nanoparticles onto BaFe12O19 microplates. The well-defined geometry of the composite and uniaxial magnetic anisotropy of the ferrite allowed alternate interfaces between both phases and fixed the orientation between the TiO2 crystal structure and the remanent...

  • Rain Water: Atmospheric Deposition

    Publication

    - Year 2013

Water is transferred from the atmosphere to the land surface mainly via various forms of atmospheric precipitation; however, the contribution of surface condensation/deposition (e.g., dew, hoar frost, occult precipitation) should not be neglected. Rainwater and liquid deposits (dew, hoar frost, rime) are components of the physical and geographical environment that are easily assimilated and transported. Thus, they are generally...

  • Research of hydrotronic variable displacement radial piston pump with electro -pneumatic control

    Publication

The paper presents the developed new electro-pneumatic control (pneumotronic) system for hydraulic fixed-displacement radial piston pump. Hydraulic fixed-displacement radial piston pump equipped with the proposed control system changes into hydrotronic variable-displacement radial piston pump. Pump flow rate control is realized by means of programmable logic controller, electro-pneumatic valves, pneumatic cylinders and a sensor.

    - MATERIALS LETTERS - Year 2020

High purity nanoscale powders (~10–15 nm size) of two different compositions of ceria, doped with Gd3+ and Ca2+, have been consolidated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) at different temperatures. Fully-dense samples were observed only at a sintering temperature of 980 °C. The as-sintered samples showed rather fast grain growth with an average grain size below 300 nm. The electrical properties of the samples were evaluated by impedance...

  • Electro-photoluminescence in organics

    Publication

    - CHEMICAL PHYSICS LETTERS - Year 2007

Elektro-fotoluminescencję zaobserwowano w układzie ITO(+)/emiter/Ca(-), gdzie emiter wzbudzany światłem UV (350nm) zawierał dendrymer aminowy m-MTDATA, pochodną fenantroliny BPT i organiczny kompleks platyny PtL2Cl.
