Photochemical Rearrangement of a 19-Membered Azoxybenzocrown: Products and their Properties
PublicationThe preparation and characterization of products of the chemical and photochemical rearrangements of a 19-membered o,o'-azoxybenzocrown were presented. In photochemical rearrangement, besides expected product i.e. 19-membered o-hydroxy-o,o'-azobenzocrown (19-o-OH), obtained under defined conditions with 75% yield, also other macrocyclic products were isolated and identified, namely: 19-membered p-hydroxy-o,o'-azobenzocrown (19-p-OH),...

Influence of dispersed phase content on the mechanical properties of electroless nanocomposite Ni-P/Si3N4 and hybrid Ni-P/Si3N4/graphite layers deposited on the AW-7075 alloy.
PublicationThe article presents the results of mechanical testing of Ni-P/Si3N4 nanocomposite and hybrid Ni-P/Si3N4/graphite coatings deposited on AW-7075 aluminum alloy using the chemical reduction method. In terms of mechanical testing, microhardness was measured, and surface roughness and adhesion of the coatings to the aluminum substrate were determined using the “scratch test” method. The surface morphology of the deposited layers was...

Adaptive dynamic control allocation for dynamic positioning of marine vessel based on backstepping method and sequential quadratic programming
PublicationIt is generally assumed in dynamic positioning of over-actuated marine vessels that the control effectiveness matrix (input matrix) is known and constant, or, in case of fault information, it is estimated by the fault detection and diagnosis system. The purpose of the study is to develop the adaptive dynamic positioning control system for an over-actuated marine vessel in the presence of uncertainties and with emphasis on limited...

Effect of sisal fiber filler on thermal properties of bio-based polyurethane composites
PublicationThis work is mainly focused on study of thermal and thermomechanical properties of obtained bio-based polyurethane (coded as bio-PU) composites via using different types of bio-components (bio-glycol, modified soybean oil and sisal fiber) in the procedure. The chemical structure, morphology and mechanical properties were also investigated and described in this manuscript in order to know more perfect characterization of produced...

Capping ligand initiated CuInS2 quantum dots decoration on, ZnIn2S4 microspheres surface under different alkalinity levels resulting in different hydrogen evolution performance
PublicationSurface distribution of quantum dots (QDs) at the semiconductor matrix caused by synthesis condition (e.g. pH of solution during coupling) could lead to different photocatalytic activity. Thus, achieving an optimal covering of semiconductor matrix by QDs has been challenging. Herein, the influence of the alkalinity level of aqueous decoration medium for the coupling of mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA) capped CuInS2 quantum dots (CIS)...

Aquatic biomass containing porous silica as an anode for lithium ion batteries
PublicationA composite electrode was manufactured by pyrolysis of Red Algae (Polysiphonia fucoides) covered by diatoms (Diatomophyceae). Electrodes were tested as a half cell with capacity of 500 mA h g−1 after 80 cycles. XPS analysis shows formation of lithium silicate under reduction of silica in an aprotic electrolyte containing LiPF6 salt.

Chemical treatment of crystalline silicon solar cells as a method of recovering pure silicon from photovoltaic modules
Proces recyklingu krzemowych ogniw PV...

Electromagnetic plane wave scattering from a cylindrical object with an arbitrary cross section using a hybrid technique
PublicationA hybrid technique combining finite-element and mode-matching methods for the analysis of scattering problems in open and closed areas is presented. The main idea of the analysis is based on the utilization of the finite-element method to calculate the post impedance matrix and combine it with external excitation. The discrete analysis, which is the most time- and memory-consuming, is limited here only to the close proximity of...

Fabrication of exfoliated graphite reinforced silicone rubber composites - Mechanical, tribological and dielectric properties
PublicationThe effect of exfoliated graphite (EG) on the mechanical, tribological and dielectric properties of the silicone rubber (QM) composites has been systematically investigated and analysed. Morphological analysis of the composites helps to understand the interfacial interaction between the filler and the rubber matrix as well as wear mechanism respectively. An enhancement in the mechanical, tribological and dielectric properties was...
