Effect of Amino Acids and Sodium Chloride on d-Sorbitol in Aqueous Solutions at Different Temperatures: Volumetric and Acoustic Approach
PublicationApparent molar volumes and apparent molar compressibilities for d-sorbitol in (0.05, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3) mol·kg−1 aqueous solutions of l-alanine, l-cysteine and l-histidine and NaCl have been determined from measurements of solution density at T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15 and 318.15) K and sound velocity at T = 298.15 K, as a function of the concentration of the sugar alcohol. The data were used to obtain the limiting apparent molar...

Gelatin and gelatin/starch-based films modified with sorbitol for wound healing
PublicationGelatin-based films modified with sorbitol were produced from gelatin solution or gelatin/starch blends using a simple and low-cost solvent casting method, and subsequently, their physicochemical, mechanical, and biocompatibility properties were characterized. This work focused on developing and optimizing a biopolymeric blend to improve the pure biopolymers’ properties for potential biomedical applications such as wound dressing....

The stereostructure of candicidin D.
PublicationThe candicidin D stereostructure was established based on NMR studies including DQF-COSY, ROESY, HSQC and HMBC experiments. The relative configurations of the candicidin D stereogenic centers were assigned as the following: 9R*, 11S*, 13S*, 15R*, 17S*, 18R*, 19S*, 21R*, 36S*, 37R*, 38S*, 40S* and 41S*. The geometry of the heptaene chromophore was defined as 22E, 24E, 26Z, 28Z, 30E, 32E and 34E.

Fault diagnosis in electronic circuits based on bilinear transformation in 3-D and 4-D spaces
PublicationPrzedstawiono ideę nowych metod diagnostycznych 3-D i 4-D opartych na przek-ształceniu biliniowym. Metody te bazują na transformacjach operujących odpo-wiednio w trzy i czterowymiarowych przestrzeniach funkcji układowych. Dlatych metod omówiono algorytm lokalizacji i identyfikacji pojedynczych uszko-dzeń parametrycznych w liniowych układach elektronicznych oraz algorytm lo-kalizacji i identyfikacji pojedynczych uszkodzeń...

Successive orbital ordering transitions in NaVO2
PublicationPomiary właściwości fizycznych NaVO2, który charakteryzuje się trójkątną siecią krystalograficzną, pokazują dwa przejścia typu orbitalnego. W temperaturze 98 K w systemie wystepuje przejście drugiego rodzaju. Natomiast poniżej 93 K obserwowane jest przejście pierwszego rodzaju.

Posttraumatic Orbital Emphysema: A Numerical Model
PublicationOrbital emphysema is a common symptom accompanying orbital fracture. The pathomechanism is still not recognized and the usually assumed cause, elevated pressure in the upper airways connected with sneezing or coughing, does not always contribute to the occurrence of this type of fracture. Observations based on the finite model (simulating blowout type fracture) of the deformations of the inferior orbital wall after a strike in...

Influence of the addition of citric acid on the physico-chemical properties of poly(sorbitol sebacate-co- butylene sebacate)
PublicationThe article presents the results of the physicochemical properties of poly(sorbitol sebacate- co-butylene sebacate) (PSBS) obtained with 0.25; 0.5; 0.75; 1 mol of citric acid (KC). It was shown that PSBS obtained with 0.25 and 0.5 mol KC is characterized by the most optimal mechanical and thermal properties. As a result of the study, it was found that the use of sorbitol and citric acid allows obtaining ester materials with...

Application of the distributed transfer function method and the rigid finite element method for modelling of 2-D and 3-D systems
PublicationIn the paper application of the Distributed Transfer Function Method and the Rigid Finite Element Method for modelling of 2-D and 3-D systems is presented. In this method an elastic body is divided into 1-D distributed parameter elements (strips or prisms). The whole body (divided into strips or prism) is described by a set of coupled partial differential equations. Solving this equations in the state space form it is possible...

On Facial Expressions and Emotions RGB-D Database
PublicationThe goal of this paper is to present the idea of creating reference database of RGB-D video recordings for recognition of facial expressions and emotions. Two different formats of the recordings used for creation of two versions of the database are described and compared using different criteria. Examples of first applications using databases are also presented to evaluate their usefulness.

Designing efficient A-D-A1-D-A type fullerene free acceptor molecules with enhanced power conversion efficiency for solar cell applications
PublicationThe achievement of highly efficient power conversion efficiency (PCE) is a big concern for non-fullerene organic solar cells (NF-OSCs) because PCE can depend on numerous variables. Here, new five novel acceptor molecules without fullerenes were developed and investigated using DFT (density functional theory) and TD-DFT (time dependent-density functional theory). Compared to the recently synthesized molecule (PZ-dIDTC6), the developed...

Performance analysis and optimization of the MAC-d scheduler in UMTS.
PublicationArtykuł prezentuje wyniki analizy efektywności pracy schedulera obsługującego dedykowane kanały logiczne podwarstwy MAC-d systemu UMTS. Zbadano wpływ różnych opcji konfiguracyjnych, parametrów i dyscyplin obsługi implementowanych w podwarstwie MAC. Dokonano weryfikacji symulacyjnej. W oparciu o uzyskane wyniki zaproponowano optymalną konfigurację schedulera MAC-d oraz zasady multipleksji kanałów logicznych i selekcji TFC.
