ELECTRON-IMPACT IONIZATION CROSS SECTIONS CALCULATIONS FOR PURINE AND PYRIMIDINE MOLECULES
PublicationCross sections for electron-impact ionization of purine and pyrimidine molecules have been calculated using binary-encounter-Bethe method for electron energies ranging from the ionization threshold up to 5 keV. Ionization cross section for purine molecules is 1.4 times higher than for pyrimidine molecules. Acceptable agreement between experimental and theoretical ionization data for pyrimidine molecule has been found.

Low-energy positron scattering from gas-phase pyrimidine: A quantum treatment of the dynamics and a comparison with experiments
PublicationWe are reporting detailed quantum scattering calculations that describe the diffusion of a beam of low-energy positrons interacting with the pyrimidine target as a gas-phase partner. The calculations have employed an essentially ab initio model for the short-range correlation interaction and for the electrostatic interaction of an impinging positron and the electron+nuclear structure of the target molecule at its equilibrium geometry.

PublicationTotal cross sections (TCS) for low-energy electron scattering from X(CH3)4 (where X = C, Si, Ge) molecules have been measured using linear transmission method. PublicationOpisano wyniki pomiarów współczynników dyfuzji w membranach przy wykorzystaniu rezonansowego przekazywania energii wzbudzania. Donorem był kompleks metaloorganiczny renu o czasie życia ok. 3ćs, co pozwalało na pomiary współczynników dyfuzji mniejszych od 10 cm2/s. Zmierzono współczynniki dyfuzji w membranach typu DMPG i DOPC w różnych temperaturach.

PublicationZbadano wpływ cząstek metalicznego srebra na fotostabilność oligomerów DNA kowalencyjnie związanych z Cy3 lub Cy5. Zbliżenie fluoroforów do cząstek srebra powodowało zwiększenie intensywności fluorescencji i pojawienie się frakcji emisji bardziej odpornej na wybielanie.

Effects of metallic silver particles on resonance energy transfer in label-led bovine serum albumin
PublicationZbadano wpływ cząstek metalicznego srebra na rezonansowe przekazywanie energii od wewnętrznych residów tryptofanowych w proteinie do zewnętrznie dowiązanego akceptora. W tych warunkach zaobserwowano istotny wzrost odległości Fórstera z 28,6 A do 63 A, co wskazuje na możliwość użycia cząstek srebra przy mierzeniu dużych odległości między molekułami i ich o przydatność w zastosowaniach biotechnologicznych.

PublicationZmierzono przekrój czynny na rozproszenie elektronów na drobinie C3F6 a zakresie energii 0.5 - 30 eV. Zaobserwowano dwa maksima o charakterze rezonansowym dla energii 3.2 eV oraz 9.5 eV. Wykazano wyraźny wpływ fluoryzacji na otrzymywane zależności energetyczne przekroju czynnego.

PublicationZmierzono całkowity przekrój czynny (TCS) na rozpraszanie elektronów na drobinach 1,3-C4F6. Pomiary przeprowadzono w zakresie energii elektronu od 0,6do 370 eV. Wyniki porównano z TCS otrzymanym poprzednio dla 2-C4F6. Stwierdzono wpływ różnic strukturalnych na otrzymane energetyczne zależności TCS (tzw. efekt izomeryczny).

PublicationZmierzono całkowity przekrój czynny (TCS) na zderzenie elektronów z izomerami C4H6 i z drobiną C4F6. Pomiary przeprowadzono w oparciu o liniową metodę transmisyjną. Dla izomerów C4H6 stwierdzono różnice w kształcie i wielkości TCS w obszarze niskich energii. Wskazano na efekt fluoryzacji.
