Abstrakt
Streszczenie angielskie: This paper provides a summary of the didactic assumptions, goals and approach concerning the syllabus and description/modelling of electrical machines (EM) for teaching in the field of power electrical engineering at the Gdansk University of Technology. They have been used to write e-text book entitled "Electrical machines around us" that covered the lectures on electrical machines given for the second year undergraduate students. The main idea of the approach to modelling EM is based on an assumption that, in general, in an EM the two fundamental couplings can be distinguished - ideal/pattern transformer coupling and ideal/pattern electromechanical coupling. Using the circuit models (lumped parameter models) of the couplings as building blocs the models of basic EM can be easy developed. To improve the course effectiveness the laboratories are tightly integrated with the lectures to provide hands-on confirmation of the material presented in class.
