RAGE as a Novel Biomarker for Prostate Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
PublikacjaThe receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE) has been implicated in driving prostate cancer (PCa) growth, aggression, and metastasis through the fueling of chronic inflammation in the tumor microenvironment. This systematic review and meta-analysis summarizes and analyzes the current clinical and preclinical data to provide insight into the relationships among RAGE levels and PCa, cancer grade, and molecular effects....

Human hair as a biomarker of human exposure to persistent organic pollutants (POPs)
PublikacjaThe main aim of this article is to investigate the possibility of using human hair as a biomarker with particular emphasis on persistent organic pollutants (POPs). We report previous results of studies of this topic. We critically review the available information on analytical procedures applied during analysis of human hair. Finally, we discuss future trends and possibilities arising from hair analysis.

Microbial diversity of inflamed and noninflamed gut biopsy tissues in inflammatory bowel disease.
PublikacjaBACKGROUND: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic gastrointestinal condition without any known cause or cure. An imbalance in normal gut biota has been identified as an important factor in the inflammatory process. METHODS: Fifty-eight biopsies from Crohn's disease (CD, n = 10), ulcerative colitis (UC, n = 15), and healthy controls (n = 16) were taken from a population-based case-control study. Automated ribosomal intergenic...

Fluorescence Imaging Using Methylene Blue Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Melanoma
PublikacjaIntroduction: Fluorescence imaging of sentinel node biopsy in melanoma is a novel method. Both indocyanine green (ICG) and methylene blue (MB) have fl uorescent properties. The aim of this study was to present, for the fi rst time in a clinical series of patients, the possible usage of MB as a fl uorescent dye for sentinel node biopsy during surgery for melanoma. Material and methods: Twenty patients with...

Deep Learning-Based, Multiclass Approach to Cancer Classification on Liquid Biopsy Data
PublikacjaThe field of cancer diagnostics has been revolutionized by liquid biopsies, which offer a bridge between laboratory research and clinical settings. These tests are less invasive than traditional biopsies and more convenient than routine imaging methods. Liquid biopsies allow studying of tumor-derived markers in bodily fluids, enabling the development of more precise cancer diagnostic tests for screening, disease monitoring, and...

Experience marketing in the service of the “secular religion” of big tech
PublikacjaThe article proposes an interpretation of the meaning of experience marketing as a tool in the process of sacralisation of products, and in a broader context – the so-called secular religion accompanying some contemporary big tech organizations. The article is of theoretical nature and the authors have intended to explain how big tech corporations, in line with the concept of experience marketing (digital platforms, in particular),...
