Attempt to a Video-Transmission Capability in MV Mine Cable Network Using BPL-PLC Technology
PublikacjaThis article presents and discusses the attempt to transmit video content using the BPL-PLC (Broadband over Power Line - Power Line Communication) technology. It includes simulation results of a specially developed digital transmitter and receiver, dedicated to a given predefined 6 kV mining power cable. The effect of two different transmission modes (2-7 MHz and 3-7.5 MHz) and two types of coupling (capacitive-inductive and induction-inductive),...

Novel application of dynamic electrochemical impedance monitoring to a cataphoretic coating process
PublikacjaThe paper presents a novel method of on-line impedance monitoring of cataphoretic coating application process. Utilization of dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (DEIS) overcame the fundamental problem connected with non-stationarity of the aforementioned coating deposition process, which eliminates classical impedance spectroscopy technique from a real-time description of cataphoresis. The paper illustrates selected examples...

Estimation of the Maximum Permissible PV Power to be Connected to the MV Grid
PublikacjaIn recent decades, a significant increase in the share of renewable energy sources in power grids at various voltage levels has been observed. A number of articles have been published highlighting emerging problems in low-voltage grids with a large share of prosumers and in medium- and high-voltage grids to which photovoltaic (PV) plants are connected. The article analyzes the medium-voltage grid in terms of the possibility of...

Bio based PUR-PIR foams thermal degradation (TG) and isoconversional kinetics
Dane BadawczeIn the present work, we perform a thorough thermogravimetric (TG) analysis of the bio-based polyurethane – polyisocyanurate (PUR-PIR) foams in both nitrogen and oxygen atmosphere. A sustainable element of the foam was a biopolyol obtained via acid-catalyzed liquefaction of Zostera Marina and Enteromorpha Algae biomass. Based on isoconversional analysis...

Aquatic biomass containing porous silica as an anode for lithium ion batteries
PublikacjaA composite electrode was manufactured by pyrolysis of Red Algae (Polysiphonia fucoides) covered by diatoms (Diatomophyceae). Electrodes were tested as a half cell with capacity of 500 mA h g−1 after 80 cycles. XPS analysis shows formation of lithium silicate under reduction of silica in an aprotic electrolyte containing LiPF6 salt.

Nowa metoda diagnostyki stanu technicznego nakładek stykowych
PublikacjaThe current collection system, which consists of the overhead contact line and a current collector, is particularly important in electric rail vehicles, where their reliability is concerned. Faultless current collection is conditioned not only by suitable construction of these elements but also by their proper maintenance. Retaining permanent electrical contact is essential in DC systems, where current demand is relatively high. In...

OPERATING CONDITIONS OF SLIDE BEARINGS OF MILLS USED IN KGHM POLSKA MIEDŹ S.A.
PublikacjaThe paper contains the results from a tec hnical analysis of the conditions of the operation of hydrodynamic bearings supporting the drums of ore processing mills at KGHM Polska Mied ź S.A. A theoretical analysis was performed on the grounds of onsite examination and measurem ents of principal dimensions of the bearings of interest. The computer simulation covered the characteristics of the oil film in the bearings...

Advanced numerical modelling for predicting residual compressive strength of corroded stiffened plates
PublikacjaAn advanced methodology for predicting the residual compressive strength of corroded stiffened plates is developed here using the non-linear finite element method. The non-uniform loss of a plate thickness is accounted for on a macro-scale. In contrast, mechanical properties are changed using the constitutive model to reflect the corrosion degradation impact on a micro-scale. Three different stiffened plate thicknesses are considered,...

Concrete-filled FRP tubular members in marine and bridge structures
PublikacjaConcrete core of the concrete-filled tubes (CFTs) with circular cross-section is in the case of an axial compression subjected to a spatial state of compressive stresses. This state leads to enhancement in the concrete strength. The enhancement is utilized in Eurocode 4 design procedures for CFSTs (i.e. CFTs with tube made of steel). The structural design of CFFTs (i.e. CFTs with tube made of Fibre Reinforced Polymer - FRP) is...

Evaluation of Langmuir and Freundlich Isotherms for Removal of Cephalexin and Tetracycline Antibiotics By Sistan Sand from Water and Wastewater Samples
PublikacjaIn this research, Sistan sand was used as a natural and inexpensive sorbent for removal of cephalexin and tetracycline antibiotics from water and wastewater samples. For a concentration 60.0 mg L-1 of cephalexin, optimum removal conditions were: pH of the sample 3.0, adsorbent amount 1.0 g, contact time 20.0 min, added amount of sodium chloride to adjust the ionic strength of the solution 7.0 g L-1. Langmuir isotherm was the best...

Impact of blending with polystyrene on the microstructural and electrochemical properties of SiOC ceramic
PublikacjaIn this work, we present the electrochemical behavior and microstructural analysis of silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) ceramics influenced by an addition of polystyrene (PS). Polymer-derived ceramics were obtained by pyrolysis (1000°C, Ar atmosphere) of different polysiloxanes prepared by sol–gel synthesis. This method is very effective to obtain desired composition of final ceramic. Two alkoxysilanes phenylthriethoxysilane and diphenyldimethoxysilane...
