[PP.17.01] INCREASED INSPIRATORY RESISTANCE AFFECTS THE CARDIAC CONTRIBUTION TO THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BLOOD PRESSURE AND PIAL ARTERY PULSATION OSCILLATIONS
PublikacjaThere is increasing evidence that heart performance directly influences cerebral perfusion. We hypothesised that increased inspiratory resistance would affect the cardiac contribution to the relationship between blood pressure and pial artery pulsation oscillations.

Multispectral Imaging Using Fluorescent Properties of Indocyanine Green and Methylene Blue in Colorectal Surgery—Initial Experience
PublikacjaIntroduction: Image-guided surgery is becoming a new tool in colorectal surgery. Intraoperative visualisation of different structures using fluorophores helps during various steps of operations. In our report, we used two fluorophores—indocyanine green (ICG), and methylene blue (MB)— during different steps of colorectal surgery, using one camera system for two separate near-infrared wavelengths. Material and methods: Twelve patients...

Increased inspiratory resistance alters the cardiac contribution to the dynamic relationship between blood pressure and pial artery pulsation oscillations in healthy subjects
PublikacjaThere is increasing evidence that heart performance directly influences cerebral perfusion. We hypothesised that increased inspiratory resistance will affect the cardiac contribution to the relationship between blood pressure and pial artery pulsation oscillations.

Hydrogels Based on Natural Polymers for Cardiac Applications
PublikacjaIn this work agar- and borax-based hydrogels with and without the addition of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) at different concentrations were synthesized. Hydrogels were modified by the same amount of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) which exhibits antithrombotic properties. The effect of modification by ASA on the properties of hydrogels was analyzed.

Corrosion of titanium biomaterials, mechanisms, effects and modelisation
Procesy korozyjne prowadzą do obluzowania implantów i poważnych schorzeń. Standardowe...

A scale with ECG measurements capability for home cardiac monitoring
PublikacjaPresented device -a scale developed for enabling extra measurements, in addition to body weight and composition, the electrical activity of the heart (electrocardiogram - ECG) and the level of oxygen saturation in the blood SaO2. Electrical activity is recorded in the form of six leads, socalled - limb leads. The device allows measurement of all standard limb leads and without the need for additional procedures. ECG, although the...

Electromagnetic Field Associated With Dermoscope Magnets May Affect the Safety of Cardiac Implanted Electronic Devices Patients
PublikacjaDermoscopy is currently used as an auxiliary tool in general dermatology. Since some commercially available dermoscopes have built-in magnets, electromagnetic interference (EMI) may occur when examining cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED) patients. The aim of the study was to create maps of electromagnetic fields defining a safe distance in terms of EMI. The study was performed in laboratory conditions using measuring...

Sympathetic Activation Does Not Affect the Cardiac and Respiratory Contribution to the Relationship between Blood Pressure and Pial Artery Pulsation Oscillations in Healthy Subjects
PublikacjaUsing a novel method called near-infrared transillumination backscattering sounding (NIR-T/BSS) that allows for the non-invasive measurement of pial artery pulsation (cc-TQ) and subarachnoid width (sas-TQ) in humans, we assessed the influence of sympathetic activation on the cardiac and respiratory contribution to blood pressure (BP) cc-TQ oscillations in healthy subjects. The pial artery and subarachnoid width response to handgrip...
