Turbulent flow and heat transfer of a liquid film formed by impinging jet.
PublikacjaZaproponowano prosty model wymiany ciepła w turbulentnym filmie cieczowym utworzonym przez uderzająca strugę. Rozpatrzono dwa przypadki: przepływ rozwijający się i w pełni rozwinięty filmu cieczowego. W obu przypadkach model wyprowadzono na podstawie zmiany grubości filmu w wyniku działania sił bezwładności i sił tarcia. Wyznaczono profile prędkości w obu zakresach co umożliwia wyznaczenie współczynników wymiany ciepła.

Numerical Analysis of Turbulent Flow over a Backward-facing Step in an Open Channel
PublikacjaComputational examinations of the flow field in an open channel having a single Backward--Facing Step (BFS) with a constant water depth of 1.5 m were performed. The effects of the expansion ratio, and the flow velocity along the reattachment length, were investigated by employing two different expansion ratios of 1.5 and 2, and eight various flow velocities of 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7.5 and 10 m/sec in the Computational Fluid Dynamic...

Hydrodynamics and heat transfer in bubbly flow in the turbulent boundarylayer
PublikacjaW pracy przedstawiono oryginalne podejście do modelowania przepływu pęcherzykowego w warstwie przyściennej i w kanale. Zaproponowano własne podejście do modelowania stopnia zapełnienia opisane równaniem...

Flow of liquid in flat gaps of the satellite motor working mechanism
PublikacjaThe article describes the methodology and results of investigations of the flow of oil and HFA-E emulsion in flat gaps of the working mechanism of a satellite motor. The flow of liquid in those gaps is turbulent and not fully developed. The article presents two methods of modelling this flow. Method I makes use of the Darcy-Weisbach formula, while Method II bases on the assumption that in the variable-length gaps the flow is turbulent...

Determination of Mechanical Energy Loss in Steady Flow by Means of Dissipation Power
PublikacjaWhen systems of simple geometry like pipes or regular channels are considered, the mechan- ical energy loss of the fluid flow can be expressed by local and longitudinal empirical energy loss coefficients. However, in the case of large spatially distributed objects, there are no simple approaches to this task. In practice, general recommendations addressing different types of objects are used, but they usually provide very coarse...

Modelling of two-component turbulent mass and heat transfer in air-fed pressurised suits
PublikacjaIn this paper the modelling of an important industrial problem is addressed, which involves the two-component turbulent flow with heat transfer that takes place inside protective clothing. The geometry of the flow boundaries is reconstructed in a CAD system from photogrammetry scan data. The overall model is sufficiently realistic to allow, after validation, design improvements to be tested. Those presented here allow the reduction...

Recent progress in experimental studies of electrohydrodynamic flow in electrostatic precipitators
PublikacjaMany experimental, theoretical and numerical works were devoted to the electrohydrodynamic (EHD) flow generated in electrostatic precipitators (EPSs). The generally accepted conclusion from these studies is that the EHD flow plays an important role in the particle collection in ESPs. However, despite of the recent fast progress in numerical simulation and experimental techniques used in the ESPs studies many problems related to...

Numerical simulation of cold flow and combustion in a swirl stabilized combustor
PublikacjaA numerical simulation model was developed to investigate the cold flow and combustion using Ansys FLUENT 2021R1. The governing equations were solved using the pressure-based method, and pressure–velocity coupling was performed using the SIMPLE method. To model the turbulent process, the RSM model was used. Non-premixed model is chosen to solve the chemical kinetics between fuel and oxigen. Radiation heat transfer was calculated...

The presented model exist in mining, and has been analyzed to resolve ventilation issues. Blind region is particularly susceptible to unsafe methane accumulation. The measurement system allows us to evaluate all components of the velocity vector in channel cross-section simultaneously....

Effects of subfilter velocity modelling on dispersed phase in LES of heated channel flow
PublikacjaA non-isothermal turbulent flow with the dispersed phase is modelled using the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) approach for fluid, one-way coupled with the equations of point-particle evolution. The channel is heated at both walls and isoflux boundary conditions are applied for fluid. Particle velocity and thermal statistics are computed. Of particular interest are the r.m.s. profiles and the probability density function of particle...

In the proposed paper, the flow and thermal phenomena occurring during single minijet impingement on the flat, concave and convex, heated surfaces were considered. Problem of impingement on non-flat surface, still not common and purely...
