Application of Eco-innovative Technologies of Nutrients Removal in Wastewater – Case Study BARITECH Project
PublikacjaEco-innovative technologies in wastewater treatment should provide not only stringent standards for the quality of treated wastewater but also ensure maximum recovery of energy and raw materials from wastewater. One of the ways to improve the removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds in existing conventional wastewater treatment plants is pretreatment of reject water generated during the mechanical...

Studies on the Combined Impact of Starch Source and Multiple Processing on Selected Properties of Thermoplastic Starch/Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Blends
PublikacjaThermoplastic starch (TPS)/ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) blends compatibilized with polyethylene-graft-maleic anhydride (PE-g-MA) were prepared from various native starches (potato, maize and waxy maize) and subjected to multiple extrusion cycles. Source of starch has significant impact on its composition, hence properties of obtained TPS and their blends with EVA. Higher content of amylopectin in waxy maize starch, comparing to...

FATE OF LAS SURFACT ANTS IN WWTPs BASED ON MEASURED CONCENTRATIONS IN WASTEWATER AND SLUDGE
PublikacjaThe fate of the surfactant LAS in the two different types of Waste Water Treatment Plants has been reviewed: the small “Swarzewo” WWTP (45 000 PE), and large WWTP “Wschód” (760 000 PE). The elimination of LAS from the water stream in Swarzewo (98,7%), is better than that found in Gdańsk (97,6%). In the sludge treatment course, the reduction of LAS in Swarzewo is greater than that in Gdańsk due to the greater biodegradation of LAS...
