Microfluidic SIW-Based Tunable Self-Diplexing Antenna for Sub-6 GHz Band Applications
PublikacjaThis work introduces a novel frequency tunable self-diplexing antenna (SDA) design based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. A modified A-shaped slot is employed on the cavity’s top plane, which is excited by two independent 50 Ω microstrip feed lines to operate at each resonant frequency. The frequency flexibility of the proposed antenna allows for fine-tuning at each resonance frequency. The frequency flexibility...

Unequally-Spaced Slot Strategy for Radiation Null Reduction in Single SIW-Embedded Antenna Element
PublikacjaThe incorporation of higher-order modes (HOMs) can substantially augment the antenna gain and bandwidth, but this improvement is typically accompanied by compromised radiation performance including radiation nulls and higher side lobe levels. In this study, an inventive strategy is introduced to reduce the radiation nulls and the side lobe levels of a single antenna element by positioning multiple slots of the radiating element...

UWB Microstrip Antennas on a Cylindrical Surfaces
PublikacjaConformal antennas are becoming popular due to their many advantages and possibilities of applications they offer. The advantages of using antennas with a curved surface arise not only from the possibility of integrating them with the object on which they are mounted on but also from the increase, relatively to planar antennas, of their visible angular range. The circular antenna arrays, or arrays of radiators located on the surface...

Fast geometry scaling of UWB band-notch antennas
PublikacjaImplementation of band-notch capability plays an important role in the design of ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas. At the same time, appropriate sizing of antenna geometry parameters in order to precisely allocate the notch at the required frequency as well as to ensure sufficient reflection level is quite challenging and has to be based—for reliability reasons—on full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulations of the structure. In this...
