    - FOOD CHEMISTRY - Year 2014

The aim of this investigation was to find the best among seven different kiwi fruit cultivars (‘Hayward’, ‘Daheung’, ‘Haenam’, ‘Bidan’, ‘Hort16A’, ‘Hwamei’ and ‘SKK12’) for human consumption and to classify them as groups. Therefore, the contents of bioactive compounds and the level of antioxidant capacities of these cultivars were determined in four different extracts and compared. It was found that the contents of the bioactive...

    - PROGRESS IN ORGANIC COATINGS - Year 2014

Linear and branched bio-based semi-aromatic (co)polyesters were evaluated as resins for solvent-basedand powder coatings. Dimethyl-2,5-furandicarboxylate (DMF), 2,3-butanediol and various multifunc-tional comonomers were used to synthesize amorphous hydroxyl-end-capped (co)polyesters. The resinswere cross-linked using the -caprolactam blocked trimer of isophorone diisocyanate. Both the solvent-based and powder coatings proved to...

  • Biobatteries and biofuel cells with biphenylated carbon nanotubes
    Publication

    - JOURNAL OF POWER SOURCES - Year 2014

Single-walled carbon nanotubes covalently biphenylated are used for the construction of cathodes in a flow biobattery and in flow biofuel cell. Zinc covered with a hopeite layer is the anode in the biobattery and glassy carbon electrode covered with bioconjugates of single-walled carbon nanotubes with glucose oxidase and catalase is anode of the biofuel cell. The potentials of the electrodes are measured vs. the Ag/AgCl reference...

    Publication

    - MOLECULES - Year 2021

Fruit used in the common human diet in general, and kiwifruit and persimmon particularly, displays health properties in the prevention of heart disease. This study describes a combination of bioactivity, multivariate data analyses and fluorescence measurements for the differentiating of kiwifruit and persimmon, their quenching and antioxidant properties. The metabolic differences are shown, as well in the results of bioactivities...

  • Bio-Based Polyurethane Networks Derived from Liquefied Sawdust
    Publication

The utilization of forestry waste resources in the production of polyurethane resins is a promising green alternative to the use of unsustainable resources. Liquefaction of wood-based biomass gives polyols with properties depending on the reagents used. In this article, the liquefaction of forestry wastes, including sawdust, in solvents such as glycerol and polyethylene glycol was investigated. The liquefaction process was carried...

    Publication

    - TRAC-TRENDS IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY - Year 2021

Due to unique abilities of the animals regarding analysis of complex gas substances, they still remain a gold standard in analysis of explosives. Unusual capabilities of biological chemosensory systems, including both vertebrates and invertebrates, stimulate elaboration of the devices mimicking their activity and operation parameters as precisely as possible. The electronic analogues are a subject of investigation in many research...

  • Biological Activity of Tea-Chokeberry and Chokeberry Fermented Beverages

Fermented beverages, such as kombucha are gaining more and more popularity due to their beneficial effects on human health. These products are obtained by the fermentation of tea infusion using so called tea fungus. This microbial consortium can also be used to prepare fermented fruit beverages. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the changes in the antioxidant profile of tea-chokeberry and chokeberry beverages...

    - Year 2004
