Metal (Mo, W, Ti) Carbide Catalysts: Synthesis and Application as Alternative Catalysts for Dry Reforming of Hydrocarbons—A Review
PublicationDry reforming of hydrocarbons (DRH) is a pro-environmental method for syngas production. It owes its pro-environmental character to the use of carbon dioxide, which is one of the main greenhouse gases. Currently used nickel catalysts on oxide supports suffer from rapid deactivation due to sintering of active metal particles or the deposition of carbon deposits blocking the flow of gases through the reaction tube. In this view,...

Seismic Response Analysis of Knee-Braced Steel Frames Using Ni-Ti Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs)
PublicationShape Memory Alloys (SMAs) are known as active materials that can be widely used for structural purposes due to their flag-shape behavior under loading and reloading. Their unique characteristics provided a potential solution for civil engi-neers especially to model buildings with the capability of dissipating seismic en-ergy. In this study, the main purpose is to explore the seismic behavior of Knee-Braced Frames (KBFs) and...

Correlation between structural and electrical properties in highly porous (Y,Sr)(Ti,Nb)O3-delta SOFC anodes
PublicationIn order to find a relationship between structural and electrical properties, niobium and yttrium doped SrTiO3 ceramics were prepared via solid-state reaction. The samples were sintered in hydrogen and air conditions. The samples were also fabricated with a pore-former to obtain highly porous specimens. The electrical properties of Nb-doped SrTiO3 samples and yttrium and niobium co-doped SrTiO3 were compared. The comparable electrical...

Structural and Material Determinants Influencing the Behavior of Porous Ti and Its Alloys Made by Additive Manufacturing Techniques for Biomedical Applications
PublicationOne of the biggest challenges in tissue engineering is the manufacturing of porous structures that are customized in size and shape and that mimic natural bone structure. Additive manufacturing is known as a sufficient method to produce 3D porous structures used as bone substitutes in large segmental bone defects. The literature indicates that the mechanical and biological properties of scaffolds highly depend on geometrical features...

Synthesis and structural properties of (Y, Sr)(Ti, Fe, Nb)O3−δ perovskite nanoparticles fabricated by modified polymer precursor method
PublicationThe yttrium, iron and niobium doped-SrTiO3 powders have been successfully fabricated by a modified low–temperature synthesis method from a polymer complex. The usage of strontium hydroxide precursor instead of conventional strontium nitrate or strontium carbonate provides to the possibility of significant decrease of annealing temperature. It allows to prepare a material with sphere-shape grains of nanometric size (15–70 nm). The...

Insightful Analysis of Phenomena Arising at the Metal|Polymer Interphase of Au-Ti Based Non-Enzymatic Glucose Sensitive Electrodes Covered by Nafion
PublicationThis paper focuses on the examination of glucose oxidation processes at an electrode material composed of gold nanoparticles embedded in a titanium template. Three dierent conditions were investigated: the chloride content in the electrolyte, its ionic conductivity and the presence of a Nafion coating. The impact of the provided environment on the oxidation reaction was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance...

Synthesis and characterization of mononuclear Zn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes containing a sterically demanding silanethiolate ligand derived from tris(2,6-diisopropylphenoxy)silanethiol
PublicationFour heteroleptic complexes of zinc(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) containing a monodentate silanethiolate ligand derived from tris(2,6-diisopropylphenoxy)silanethiol (TDST), were prepared and characterized. The geometries of ligands in the complexes are typical: distorted tetrahedral in zinc and cobalt(II) complexes and square planar in nickel(II) compound. Magnetic studies performed for Ni(II) and Co(II) compounds confirm the...

Modyfikacja struktury i właściwości warstwy wierzchniej stopu tytanu Ti-6Al-4V otrzymywanej metod,a nadtapiania laserowego w warunkach ultraszybkiej krystalizacji

Cu-Doped Layered Double Hydroxide Constructs the Performance-Enhanced Supercapacitor Via Band Gap Reduction and Defect Triggering
PublicationLayered double hydroxides (LDHs) are regarded as the excellent electrode materials for supercapacitors because of their high theoretical capacitance and abundance. However, the poor conductivity and limited reaction kinetics of LDHs restrict their practical application severely. Herein, Cu is chosen from groups VIII/IB/IIB as dopants for Co-based LDH (CuCo-LDH). The designed metal–organic framework-derived hierarchical CuCo-LDH...
