Multiple sound sources localization in free field using acoustic vector sensor
PublicationMethod and preliminary results of multiple sound sources localization in free field using the acoustic vector sensor were presented in this study. Direction of arrival (DOA) for considered source was determined based on sound intensity method supported by Fourier analysis. Obtained spectrum components for considered signal allowed to determine the DOA value for the particular frequency independently. The accuracy of the developed...

Design, Realization and Measurements of Enhanced Performance 2.4 GHz ESPAR Antenna for Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks
PublicationThis paper presents the design, realization and measurements of an Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator (ESPAR) antenna with enhanced performance of estimating the incoming signal direction. Designed antenna is dedicated for 2.4 GHz ISM applications with emphasis on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). Proposed antenna provides different radiation patterns by proper configuration of the parasitic elements. Thus, several...

A measurement method for lossy capacitive relative humidity sensors based on a direct sensor-to-microcontroller interface circuit
PublicationA new time-domain measurement method for determining the capacitance and resistance values of lossy relative humidity capacitive sensors is presented. The method is based on a direct sensor-to-microcontroller interface for microcontrollers with internal analog comparators and timers. The interface circuit consists only of four reference resistors (two reference resistors if a microcontroller includes a voltage reference source),...

Sounding Mechanism of a Flue Organ Pipe—A Multi-Sensor Measurement Approach
PublicationThis work presents an approach that integrates the results of measuring, analyzing, and modeling air flow phenomena driven by pressurized air in a flue organ pipe. The investigation concerns a Bourdon organ pipe. Measurements are performed in an anechoic chamber using the Cartesian robot equipped with a 3D acoustic vector sensor (AVS) that acquires both acoustic pressure and air particle velocity. Also, a high-speed camera is employed...

FIBRE-OPTIC SENSOR FOR SIMULTANEOUS MEASUREMENT OF THICKNESSAND REFRACTIVE INDEX OF LIQUID LAYERS
PublicationIn this paper, we present a fibre-optic sensor for simultaneous measurement of refractive index and thickness of liquid layers. We designed an experimental low-coherence setup with two broadband light sources and an extrinsic fibre-optic Fabry–Pérot interferometer acting as the sensing head. We examined how the refractive index of a liquid film and its thickness affect spectrum at the output of a fibre-optic interferometer. We...

Measurements and Visualization of Sound Intensity Around the Human Head in Free Field Using Acoustic Vector Sensor
PublicationThis paper presents measurements and visualization of sound intensity around the human head simulator in a free field. A Cartesian robot, applied for precise positioning of the acoustic vector sensor, was used to measure sound intensity. Measurements were performed in a free field using a head and torso simulator and the setup consisting of four different loudspeaker configurations. The acoustic vector sensor was positioned around...

Localization in wireless sensor networks based on zigbee platform

Modular wireless sensor network platform for RF transceiver evaluation
PublicationArtykuł przedstawia modułową technikę projektowania sieci sensorów bezprzewodowych. Uniwersalne połączenia występujące pomiędzy modułami pozwalają na zaprojektowanie nowej wersji sieci w przeciągu kilku dni zamiast tygodni. Na bazie wymienionej metodologii skonstruowane została platforma pozwalająca testować różnego rodzaju układy nadawczo odbiorcze pracujące na częstotliwościach RF.

Electrochemical sensor for measurement of volatile organic compounds in air
PublicationPrzedstawiono rezultaty badań prototypowego czujnika do oznaczania mrówczanu etylu i formaldehydu w powietrzu. Określono czułość wskazań czujnika i jego granice oznaczalności wykorzystując jako techniki detekcyjne pulsową woltamperometrię różnicową (DPV) oraz woltamperometrię fali prostokątnej (SWV). Elektrodę roboczą i przeciwelektrodę stanowiły elektrody z Pt. Elektrolitem wewnętrznym była ciecz jonowa (chlorek 1-heksylo,3-metyloimidazolinowy)....
