Structural and Electrical Properties of STF Materials for SOFC Applications

Functional properties of packaging materials from chemical modified stach.
PublicationThis work is focused on study of the mechanical and barrier properties of films obtained from potato starch modified with sodium tetrahydroxozincate generated in situ. The results show that the chemical modification of starch improved the water vapor permeability by about 25%, unfortunately decreased the elongation at break by 60%, when compared with unmodified starch films. However, placitization of films with glycerol at a concentration...

Structural and electrical properties of Cr-doped SrTiO 3 porous materials
PublicationSeries of single-phase materials with assumed formula SrTi1−xCrxO3 (where x = 0, 1, 4, 6 mol.%) were obtained by sol-gel method. The structure and microstructure of materials were characterised by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy methods. Moreover, the study of electrical properties and evaluation of chemical stability in CO2/H2O atmosphere was performed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and thermogravimery...

Effect of starch fillers on the dynamic mechanical properties of rubber biocomposite materials
PublicationIn the paper the results of dynamic mechanical study of the biocomposites containing one of two types of (potato or corn) strach used as fillers in different amount were discussed. The composites were obtained from rubbery mixture containing natural rubber (NR) as a main component. Thermomechanical analyses (by DMA) showed that the used quantity of strach fillers only slightly influence on the glass transition temperature of vulcanizates.

Functionalized azobenzocrown ethers as sensor materials—The synthesis and ion binding properties
PublicationNew 13- and 16-membered azobenzocrown ethers with aromatic amino, amide, ether–ester or ether–amide residue in para position to an azo moiety were obtained. Acid–base properties and ion binding ability of the colored compounds were studied by spectroscopic methods: UV–vis, fluorimetry and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Selected azobenzocrowns were tested as ionophores in ion-selective membrane electrodes (ISEs) – classic and miniature all...

Emulsifi ers from renewable materials: an eco-friendly synthesis and properties
PublicationThe focus of this study was the preparation of novel bio based polyglycerol emulsifiers characterized by a one pot synthesis, thus by modified properties with respect to interfacial activity and effectiveness as emulsion stabilizers. The final products of the esterification process, carried out in the presence of carboxylates were used directly as emulsifiers (without purification or fractionation). Polyglycerol emulsifiers obtained...

Effect of glycolysate obtained from polyurethane wastes on mechanical properties of rubber materials
PublicationThe paper presents the possibility of utilization of wastes from polyurethane foams. In this work the results of mechanical investigations of materials obtained from natural rubber mixtures with a mixture of glycolysate and biodiesel glycerine as a plasticizer are described. The measurements of mechanical properties showed rather good tensile strength, elongation at break and modules of extensions M100%, M200%, M300% of obtained...

Analytical applications and physicochemical properties of ionic liquid-based hybrid materials: A review
PublicationIonic liquids with their unique properties found so far numerous analytical applications. Among them ionic liquids immobilized on the surface or within the pores of a solid support were successfully utilized in extraction techniques dedicated to preconcentration of the analytes from food, environmental and biological samples. In this review we focus on comprehensive summarizing of available literature data on the examples of ionic...

Effect of kenaf fibre modification on morphology and mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane materials
PublicationThe presented study examined the morphology and mechanical properties of biocomposites obtained from kenaf natural fibre and thermoplastic polyurethane. Kenaf was modified using various methods, namely: acetylation, blocked isocyanate, maleic anhydride and permanganate treatment. Those methods and ways of carrying out of surface modifications were not studied before on kenaf/thermoplastic polyurethane composites. Different fibre...
