Nanotubular oxide layer formed on helix surfaces of dental screw implants - SEM examination
Open Research DataThe samples used for the research had the shape of a helix with a metric thread, with their geometry imitating a dental implant. The oxide layer was produced by a standard electrochemical method in an environment of 1M H3PO4 + 0.3 % HF for 20 min, at a constant voltage of 30 V. The oxidized samples were analyzed with a scanning electron microscope.

Charge dependence of fragmentation process induced by ion collisions with furan molecule
PublicationThe goal of this work is to describe the system evolution after ion-molecule interaction. We combine different quantum chemistry and statistical mechanics approaches in order to give extended description of the process. Herein we report on a recent study of the fragmentation mechanism of neutral, singly- and doubly-ionized furan molecule in the gas phase.

Modelling of Abdominal Wall Under Uncertainty of Material Properties
PublicationThe paper concerns abdominal wall modelling. The accurate prediction and simulation of abdominal wall mechanics are important in the context of optimization of ventral hernia repair. The shell Finite Element model is considered, as the one which can be used in patient-specific approach due to relatively easy geometry generation. However, there are uncertainties in this issue, e.g. related to mechanical properties since the properties...

Material Identification of the Human Abdominal Wall Based On the Isogeometric Shell Model
PublicationThe human abdominal wall is an object of interest to the research community in the context of ventral hernia repair. Computer models require a priori knowledge of constitutive parameters in order to establish its mechanical response. In this work, the Finite Element Model Updating (FEMU) method is used to identify an heterogeneous shear modulus distribution for a human abdominal wall model, which is based on nonlinear isogeometric...

La 0.6 Sr 0.4 Co 0.2 Fe 0.8 O 3-δ oxygen electrodes for solid oxide cells prepared by polymer precursor and nitrates solution infiltration into gadolinium doped ceria backbone
PublicationInfiltration is a method, which can be applied for the electrode preparation. In this paper oxygen electrode is prepared solely by the infiltration of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3‐δ (LSCF) into Ce0.8Gd0.2O2-δ (CGO) backbone. The use a polymer precursor as an infiltrating medium, instead of an aqueous nitrate salts solution is presented. It is shown that the polymer forms the single-phase perovskite at 600 °C, contrary to the nitrates...

Full-field in vivo experimental study of the strains of a breathing human abdominal wall with intra-abdominal pressure variation
PublicationThe presented study aims to assess the mechanical behaviour of the anterior abdominal wall based on an in vivo experiment on humans. Full-field measurement of abdominal wall displacement during changes of intra-abdominal pressure is performed using a digital image correlation (DIC) system. Continuous measurement in time enables the observation of changes in the strain field during breathing. The understanding of the mechanical...

Non-adiabatic coupling elements between the diatomic silver anion and neutral silver dimer plus continuum electron
Open Research DataThe process of a two-channel decay of the diatomic silver anion (Ag2-), namely the spontaneous electron ejection giving Ag2 + e- and the dissociation leading to Ag- + Ag is theoretically studied. The ground state potential energy curves (PECs) of the neutral silver dimer and anionic silver diatomic molecule are calculated using the single reference...

Application of acoustic emission for detection of fatigue microdemage in main and crank bearings for diesel engines
PublicationThe article presents reasons for applying the acoustic emission (AE) to detect fatigue microdamage in main bearings and crank bearings of ship main engines. Problem of determination of the fatigue life for slide bearing bushes was characterized in general. There were demonstrated properties of the objects of research, which were bushings made of the MB58 alloy, as well as an overall description of the research. It was shown that...
