Labellum and gynostemium micromorphology in Polystachya (Orchidaceae)
PublicationPolystachya is a large, pantropical orchid genus of 200 species, most of which occur as epiphytes in sub-saharan Africa. The three-lobed labellum of most Polystachya species possesses a fleshy callus and various types of trichomes and papillae. In this paper, we present the results of micromorphological studies on the labellum of 20 species, representing eight of the 13 sections in the genus, using scanning electron microscopy...

The impact of global value chains on wages, employment, and productivity: a survey of theoretical approaches
PublicationThis study presents a systematic literature review to provide a collection of theories explaining the impact of global value chains (GVCs) on labour market outcomes. Due to the complex nature of GVCs and the interconnectedness of wages, employment, and productivity, many direct and indirect effects are at play. To ensure a transparent and systematic flow of the review process, I follow the PRISMA guide. Eventually, 36 records out...

Review of Cybersecurity Assessment Methods: Applicability Perspective
PublicationCybersecurity assessments are crucial in building the assurance that vital cyberassets are effectively protected from threats. Multiple assessment methods have been proposed during the decades of the cybersecurity field. However, a systematic literature search described in this paper reveals that their reviews are practically missing. Thus, the primary objective of this research was to fulfil this gap by comprehensively identifying...

Changes in bacterial cells induced by high pressure at subzero temperature
PublicationW publikacji przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczące zmian jakie zachodzą w komórkach bakterii Escherichia coli po działaniu wysokiego ciśnienia w ujemnej temperaturze. Stwierdzono, że w wyniku działania ciśnienia 193 MPa zachodzącą zmiany w błonie cytoplazmatycznej i ścianie komórkowej bakterii. W tych warunkach następowała prawie całkowita utrata wewnątrzkomórkowego ATP z komórek badanych szczepów znajdujących się w fazie logarytmicznej....

Collective creativity in management science
PublicationPurpose: The purpose of this paper is to establish the current state of knowledge on collective creativity in management science on the basis of a systematic literature review. Methodology: A systematic review was performed based on the three-step SPL procedure proposed by Tranfield et al. (2003). Two databases (Scopus and Web of Science) were searched electronically up until March 2022. Based on the secondary data a literature...

Dual-wavelength polarimeter application in investigations of the optical activity of a langasite crystal
PublicationA method of high accuracy polarimetry, which includes optical activity measurements systematic errors, was realized with dual-wavelength polarimeter for two wavelengths of 635 and 650 nm. Simultaneous measurements with neighboring wavelengths significantly improved the data processing, by increasing the amount of data to eliminate the systematic errors. For langasite crystal La3Ga5SiO14 we measured temperature dependence of the...

Investigating Analytics Dashboards’ Support for the Value-based Healthcare Delivery Model
PublicationImproving the value of care is one of the essential aspects of Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) model today. VBHC is a new HC delivery model which is centered on patient health outcomes and improvements. There is anecdotal evidence that the use of decision aid tools like dashboards can play a significant role in the successful implementation of VBHC models. However, there has been little or no systematic studies and reviews to establish...

Data for meta-analysis on interversions reducing car use
Open Research DataThis dataset contains the results of a meta-analysis of reported interventions reducing car use. To standardise intervention effects reported in different scales, the Hedges’ g effect size measure was used (ratio of raw difference in samples’ means and pooled standard deviation). The standardised studies outcomes, along with overall outcome, were...

Variational principles for bound states of Schrödinger and Dirac equations allowing the use of discontinuous trial functions
PublicationWe present systematic constructions of variational principles for energies of bound states of the Schroedinger and Dirac equations. The principles allow the use of discontinuous trial functions. The method employed is based on a generalized Lagrange procedure. Relationships between our variational principles and those available in the literature are established.

The Origins of the Concept of Ideology
PublicationThe concept of "ideology" as, firstly, a term that points at non-epistemological conditioning of cognitive processes, and, secondly, as a term which aimed at disclosing the ancillary role of given ideas in regard to specific political interests of certain groups, has long history. Since Francis Bacon's theory of idols modern philosophy endavoured to create a comprehensive classification of systematic cognitive errors which divert...
