Transcriptomic responses to wounding: meta-analysis of gene expression microarray data
PublikacjaBackground A vast amount of microarray data on transcriptomic response to injury has been collected so far. We designed the analysis in order to identify the genes displaying significant changes in expression after wounding in different organisms and tissues. This meta-analysis is the first study to compare gene expression profiles in response to wounding in as different tissues as heart, liver, skin, bones, and spinal cord, and...

Active management of equipment cooling in hoteling data centers
PublikacjaHoteling data centers are designated for housing computing and storage units of many, usually small customers, as opposed to traditional data centers supporting own computing and storage resources of a bigger company. One of the services to be provided to consumer’s equipment is cooling. Cooling in data centers is prevalently achieved by circulating air in computer room. Efficient cooling requires delivering cold air from central...

Data for meta-analysis on interversions reducing car use
Dane BadawczeThis dataset contains the results of a meta-analysis of reported interventions reducing car use. To standardise intervention effects reported in different scales, the Hedges’ g effect size measure was used (ratio of raw difference in samples’ means and pooled standard deviation). The standardised studies outcomes, along with overall outcome, were...

Data Partitioning and Task Management in the Clustered Server Layer of the Volunteer-based Computation System
PublikacjaWhile the typical volunteer-based distributed computing system focus on the computing performance, the Comcute system was designed especially to keep alive in the emergency situations. This means that designers had to take into account not only performance, but the safety of calculations as well. Quadruple-layered architecture was proposed to separate the untrusted components from the core of the system. The main layer (W) consists...

Meta-narracja to idea fragmentaryczna, niemająca związku z polityka architektoniczną w skali regionalnej czy narodowej, to opowieść nadmiernie rozbudowana: wzdłuż, wszerz i wzwyż. Sylwetka miasta...
