Numerical Analysis of the Unsteady Propeller Performance in the Ship Wake Modified by Different Wake Improvement Devices
PublikacjaThe paper presents summary of numerical analysis of the unsteady propeller forces and induced pressure pulses generated by the selected real propeller of 7000 tons product tanker, operating in five different wakefields including four inflenced by the different wake improvement devices. PublikacjaW rozdziale przedstawiono wyniki dyskretnych symulacji jednorodnego trójosiowego ściskania piasku przy zastosowaniu metody elementów dyskretnych. Obliczenia wykonano stosując 2 różne opisy szorstkości ziaren: kule z uwzględnieniem momentów kontaktu oraz grona kul. Obliczono energię sprężystą i dysypację plastyczną. Low-energy positron scattering from gas-phase pyrimidine: A quantum treatment of the dynamics and a comparison with experiments
PublikacjaWe are reporting detailed quantum scattering calculations that describe the diffusion of a beam of low-energy positrons interacting with the pyrimidine target as a gas-phase partner. The calculations have employed an essentially ab initio model for the short-range correlation interaction and for the electrostatic interaction of an impinging positron and the electron+nuclear structure of the target molecule at its equilibrium geometry.

Comparative analysis of the theoretical models of ideal propulsor, ideal fluid brake, ideal screw propeller and ideal axial wind turbine
PublikacjaThe article presents a detailed discussion of four different fluid dynamics devices.These devices are presented with all relevant mathematical formulae regarding the forces, the power and the efficiency. It is demonstrated that application of the Betz theorem to axial wind turbines is not correct and it underestimates the maximujm achievable efficiency. This conclusion is supported by numerical calculations.
