PublikacjaThe aim of the studies was analysis of resistance of Staphylococcus aureus isolates from bovine mastitis in eastern part of Poland to a set of 20 antibiotics and three alternative agents: lysostaphin, nisin and polymyxin B. Eighty-six out of 123 examined isolates were susceptible to all of 20 tested antibiotics (70 %). The highest percentage of resistance was observed in the case of β-lactam antibiotics: amoxicillin (n=22, 17.9...

Study of the influence of the presence of Dr fimbriae on the sedimentation of recombinant Escherichia coli strains: AAEC191A and BL21(DE3)
Dane BadawczeCell sedimentation in the medium is a common phenomenon in most bacterial enviroments. This study specifically investigated the impact of Dr fimbriae presence on cell deposition. To explore this, recombinant Escherichia coli strains were employed, including BL21(DE3)/pCC90, BL21(DE3)/pACYCpBAD, BL21(DE3)/pCC90 Dra D-mut, BL21(DE3)/pCC90 D54-STOP, AAEC191A/pCC90,...

Determination of the thermal conductivity of material dividing the metallic core elements of the bi-calorimeter using modified theory
PublikacjaW pracy przedstawiono zmodyfikowaną teorię bikalorymetru z dzielonym metalowym rdzeniem. Pomiędzy dwiema częściami rdzenia umieszczano próbki badanego ciała stałego lub gazu. Ogrzewano jedną stronę rdzenia. Mierzono temperaturę obu części rdzenia w funkcji czasu. Uzyskane wyniki umożliwiły wyznaczenie różnicy temperatur i strumienia ciepła, przepływającego przez próbkę. Z zastosowaniem prawa Fouriera obliczano współczynnik przewodności...

Phytoextraction and recovery of rare earth elements using willow (Salix spp.)
PublikacjaSoil and water contaminations are caused by rare earth elements (REEs) due to mining and industrial activities, that threaten the ecosystem and human health. Therefore, phytoremediation methods need to be developed to overcome this problem. To date, little research has been conducted concerning the phytoremediation potential of Salix for REEs. In this study, two Salix species (Salix myrsinifolia and Salix schwerinii) and two Salix...
