  • Cement kiln dust

    Publication

    - Year 2021

The volume of cement production in the world has remained at the level of approxi mately 4.1 billion tons/year. The cement production process is energy intensive and is the world’s leading emitter of carbon dioxide. Therefore, the main activities cement plants are aimed at introducing technologies changes in production of clinkier. The construction industry is responsible for the majority of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere: the...

  • Poroelastic Road Surfaces - State of The Art

    Publication

    - Year 2018

Poroelastic Road Surfaces (PERS) constitute a specific group of pavements containing a great amount of crumbled rubber. In most cases rubber aggregate constitutes about 20% of the mixture (by weight) and a polyurethane resin is used as a binder. As a result, PERS is characterized by a much higher elasticity than asphalt and a high porosity typical for drainage pavements. Due to this, tire/road noise is greatly reduced and on top...

  • Pre-oxidation of porous ferritic Fe22Cr alloys for lifespan extension at high-temperature

    Publication

    - CORROSION SCIENCE - Year 2024

Pre-oxidation of porous ferritic Fe22Cr alloys was extensively studied in this paper. Weight gain measurements and SEM analysis revealed that pre-oxidation performed at 900◦C for 40 min increased the lifespan of the alloy. A Cr evaporation study did not disclose any significant influence of the pre-oxidation process on the Cr content in the alloy. For a more detailed assessment, TEM imaging and X-ray tomography measurements of...

  • The lanthanide influence on selected properties of BaLnCo2O6-δ

    Publication

    - Year 2023

The subject of research of this dissertation are cobalt oxides with a double perovskite structure with a general formula BaLnCo2O6-δ, where Ln stands for La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy. The aim of the study was to verify the ability of these materials to form the protonic defects, as well as to identify the factors determining this ability. As part of the work, materials from the proposed group were synthesised and characterized. To...

  • Electrical properties of Y0.08Sr0.92Ti0.92Nb0.08O3-δ after reduction in different reducing conditions

Electrical properties of perovskite Y0.08Sr0.92Ti0.92Nb0.08O3−ı after reduction in different conditions were studied. Relatively high electrical conductivity in samples reduced in ammonia was observed. The conductivity of Y0.08Sr0.92Ti0.92Nb0.08O3−ı reduced in ammonia at 1500 ◦C was of about 600 S/cm at 200 ◦C. Conductivity after reduction in ammonia at 1500 ◦C was stable both in hydrogen and oxygen atmosphere up to 600 ◦C. Reduction...

    - ATMOSPHERIC CHEMISTRY AND PHYSICS - Year 2021

Light-absorbing carbonaceous aerosols emitted by biomass or fossil fuel combustion can contribute to amplifying Arctic climate warming by lowering the albedo of snow. The Svalbard archipelago, being near to Europe and Russia, is particularly affected by these pollutants, and improved knowledge of their distribution in snow is needed to assess their impact. Here we present and synthesize new data obtained on Svalbard between 2007...
