Power electronic transformer based on cascaded H-bridge converter
PublicationIn this paper the control strategy of power electronic transformer (PET) is proposed. The analyzed structure of PET uses two seven-level cascaded H-bridge (CHB) rectifiers. The electrical power of PET is transferred between DC-links of CHB converters using dual-active-bridges (DABs) and low voltage high frequency transformers. The roposed solution allows for controlling the active and reactive power with a low level of harmonic...

Earthquake-induced pounding between superstructure segments of isolated bridge
PublicationThe use of seismic isolation in bridges is considered as one of the most promising advanced technologies to enhance the structural safety during earthquakes. However, the method results in larger displacements of superstructure segments increasing the probability of pounding between them. Reports after severe ground motions show that the earthquake-induced structural pounding may lead to significant damage in isolated bridges....

Mechanics of Micro- and Nano-Size Materials and Structures
PublicationNanotechnology knowledge is always looking to expand its boundaries to achieve the mostsignificant benefit to human life and meet the growing needs of today. In this case, we can refer tomicro- and nanosensors in micro/nano-electromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS). These electricaldevices can detect minimal physical stimuli up to one nanometer in size. Today, micro/nano-sensordevices are widely used in the...

Control strategy for the multilevel cascaded H-bridge converter
PublicationThe paper presents the control strategy for Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) converter . The converter output voltage using Space-Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SV-PWM) strategy is controlled. The DC-link voltages are controlled by appropriate choice of H-Bridges and appropriate choice of active and passive vectors.

Recent steel structures in Poland - the selected projects
PublicationThe paper presents selected examples of recently completed steel structures in Poland. These are roofs over sport stadiums, construction of public buildings and bridges. Described examples do not exhaust the acquis in the field of steel constructions in Poland. The authors, however, may hope that the presented con-structions represents current achievements in Poland in the field of steel structures.

[N,N'-Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)pentane-2,4-diamine(1-)-2[kappa]2N,N']-[mu]2-chlorido-1:2[kappa]2Cl:Cl-chlorido-2[kappa]Cl-bis(1,2-dimethoxyethane-1[kappa]2O,O')iron(II)lithium
PublicationIn the title compound, [FeLi(C29H41N2)Cl2(C4H10O2)2], theFeII atom is coordinated by two N and two Cl atoms, generating a distorted FeN2Cl2 tetrahedral geometry. Additionally, one of the chloride atoms bridges to a lithium ion, which is solvated by two dimethoxyethane molecules and iscoordinated in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environment. The central Fe, Cl (*2) and Li atoms are coplanar with amaximum deviation of 0.034 A ° .

Test loadings of arch bridges
PublicationIn Poland an appreciable developement of bridge building can be seen in recent years. Arch structures are more and more common, because of the original geometrical and aesthetical form, aside with explicit structural system. Paper concerns the applied computational conceptions and researches on an example of two arch bridges. The goal of the studies is to check the correctness of the real construction work and design assumptions,...

VIBRATION DIAGNOSTICS OF FOOTBRIDGE WITH USE OF ROTATION SENSOR
PublicationThe benefits of the additional measurement of rotational degrees of free-dom on the performance of the vibration diagnosis of bridges are studied in this paper. The common vibrational diagnostics that uses translational degrees of freedom is extended by measurements of rotations. The study is curried out on a footbridge and the presence of damage as well as its location and size is determined with use of FEM updating procedure....
