Numerical analysis of size effect in RC beams scaled along height or length using elasto-plastic-damage model enhanced by non-local softening.
PublicationArtykuł omawia wyniki numeryczne dotyczące efektu skali w belkach żelbetowych uzyskane stosując metodę elementów skończonych. Dwuwymiarowe obliczenia wykonano dla belek żelbetowych podczas 4-punktowego zginania. Belki były skalowane wzdłuż wysokości lub długości. Beton został opisany prawem sprężysto-plastycznym z degradacją sztywności, rozszerzonym o nielokalność w osłabieniu. Wyniki numeryczne zostały porównane z wynikami doświadczalnymi....

Reduced order models in computational electromagnetics (in memory of Ruediger Vahldieck)
PublicationThis paper reviews research of Ruediger Vahldieck's group and the group at the Gdansk University of Technology in the area of model order reduction techniques for accelerating full-wave simulations. The applications of reduced order models to filter design as well as of local and nested(multilevel) macromodels for solving 3D wave equations and wave-guiding problems using finite difference and finite element methods are discussed.

Twenty years' (1996-2016) tropospheric parameters for selected EPN stations derived from GPS double-difference processing
Open Research DataPropagation of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) signals through the Earth’s atmosphere is affected by its physical properties. Both hydrostatic and wet part of the atmosphere (mostly related with troposphere) causes delays of GNSS signal, which usually are expressed in the zenith direction (zenith hydrostatic delay - ZHD, and zenith wet delay...

Tropospheric parameters derived from the selected IGS stations in the global tropics for the years 2001-2018
Open Research DataThis dataset contains daily GNSS-derived zenith tropospheric delay (ZTD), a posteriori corrected zenith wet delay (ZWD), and precipitable water vapour (PWV) time series. These troposphere-related data were estimated for the period between January 2001 and December 2018, for the 43 International GNSS Service (IGS) stations, located in the global tropics....

Asynchronous distributed state estimation for continuous-time stochastic processes
PublicationWe consider the problem of state estimation of a continuous-time stochastic process using an asynchronous distributed multi-sensor estimation system (ADES). In an ADES the state of a process of interest is estimated by a group of local estimators. Each local estimator based, for example, on a Kalman filter, performs single sensor filtration but also fusion of its local results and results from other (remote) processors to compute...

Disruption of the communication process on the example of ALEP-PL web application
PublicationBy creating a dedicated web service, such as the presented ALEP-PL solution, you can not assume that its users have suffcient knowledge of the energy sector. This application is dedicated to the local energy planning. The ALEP-PL makes it easier to incorporate in the planning of key players in the local energy market. This group of ALEP-PL users represents mainly the ocials of energy companies and specialist offcers. In the paper...

Tropospheric delays derived from GNSS observations during the derecho event in Poland of 11th August 2017
Open Research DataPropagation of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) radio signals is disturbed by the current state of the Earth's atmosphere. For this reason, advances processing of GNSS signals can be used for investigation of the atmospheric condition. In case of troposphere, the GNSS signals allow for obtain information of tropospheric delay, which is mainly...

More freedom – more investments. The relationship between the extent of fiscal autonomy with respect to own revenues and investment expenditures of Polish communes and cities with county rights
PublicationThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between own revenues characterized by different levels of fiscal autonomy and investment expenditures of selected local government entities in Poland. Accordingly, the following research hypothesis was formulated: there is a relationship between the type of own revenue identified with respect to fiscal autonomy and the size of investment expenditures. Revenues characterized...

Ranking ecosystem services delivered by trees in urban and rural areas
PublicationPolicies and strategies for tree management and protection on a national, regional, and local level have not sufficiently considered differences between rural and urban areas. We used expert knowledge to compare rural and urban areas in a case study evaluating the relative importance of ecosystem services (ES) in policy development. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and focus group discussions were used to rank 17 ES, representing...
